Is a bridal hair and makeup trial absolutely necessary?

Bridal hair and makeup trials are recommended to make sure you’re going to look perfect on your wedding day.  Does your hair hold curl? Will the condition, texture, length allow you to achieve that amazing style you have your heart set on? Will you need extensions to add volume to your fine hair? All of these are important questions that shouldn't be left till your wedding day. During your hair and makeup trial your stylist can also determine how long they will need with you to produce the best outcome on the big day. Trials are also great for creating good energy and an easy going vibe for the wedding day because by then, everyone has already met and knows one another. This tends to put brides at ease and make it more comfortable, and believe me, when you're relaxed, it helps your hair and makeup look flawless and getting ready will be fun and easy! We don’t think it’s worth leaving some things to chance, but in the end  if you really don’t want to book  a trial, don’t! We know that a trial run is not an option for all brides because of busy schedules or perhaps the budget doesn't allow for it, so in the event you decided not to or can't have a trial, don't worry! just make sure you allow a little extra getting ready time on the day so your stylist can ensure you look and feel gorgeous!!

What to bring to your bridal hair and makeup trial:

  • Pictures of your wedding gown
  • Your Pinterest board or any photos of your hair and makeup inspirations
  • ??A picture of your normal makeup look
  • Your veil or headpiece
  • A clean, exfoliated and product-free face
  • Perfectly shaped eyebrows

When do I schedule my trial?

Trials are recommended from 1 – 6 months before your wedding day.  Take advantage of looking great and plan a dinner out with your  partner  however, if you don’t want your  partner  to see your hair and makeup, it is a perfect time for a girls night out!  You'll want enough details planned so you can make an informed decision about what you want and what you do and don't like, but should also leave time to do a second trial if you change your mind on the chosen look.   That being said It can be helpful to schedule your dress fitting after your hair and makeup which will allow you the opportunity to see the whole bridal look!   You get to see and feel like you will on the day you get married. You will get a visual idea of what works for you and what does not.   Usually, by that time a theme for your wedding has been chosen and you have an idea of what you would like your wedding to be. If making your  bridal hair and makeup trial on that day is not an option, make sure your makeup and hair looks on point and pulled together, the very last thing you want to do is stand in front of a mirror in a stunning wedding gown looking disheveled. You also want the option to take photos on your phone so you have access to it to make other decisions.

How do I look after my skin pre trial?

Exfoliation removes dead skin cells, leaving your skin radiant and smooth. If you want soft, clean skin, exfoliating your face prior to the makeup trial will give you glowing skin. A hydrating moisturiser should be applied after. Have your eyebrows waxed 2 days prior to your makeup trial.

Is the person doing the bridal hair and makeup trial the same person I will have on my wedding day?

Yes you will always receive the same bridal hair and makeup artist that did your wedding trial.
