Hi, we're considering a semi-rural wedding, but not wanting to limit our suppliers to just the town. How far do makeup artists generally travel without charging extra, and at what point would they charge a travel fee? Thank you!

Artists will usually have a radius around their base (whether home or storefront) that they'll travel to without a fee, but beyond that, they need to take into consideration not just petrol, but wear and tear on their vehicles, tyres etc. On top of that, the time that is consumed by travelling will exempt them from taking any other work during that time, so the travel fee needs to allow for that as well.
Where the travel fee kicks in is different from artist to artist. As is the way they determine what that travel fee is. Every artist is going to be different, but I hope this gives you some context of why a travel fee is applied x
