I have been a dancer and I also did hair before I became a - Fully Qualified - Master - Hair Dresser / Stylist. I have won so many awards over seas and in Australia over the 11 years in business, this January 2023. I am well known in Canberra and most my work comes from word of mouth or past bridesmaids. Missy was an absolute magician with my hair! Not only is she extremely skilled as a stylist, but she is so good at understanding exactly the kind of look you want (even if like me, you might not do the best job at explaining it first go!) and she is so committed to getting it absolutely right on the day. At my trial, the guidance pictures I initially provided didn't quite turn out how I imagined on my own hair when we first tried them, but Missy made sure to understand what I wanted done differently and restyled it a different way to achieve the type of look I was describing, and absolutely nailed it. I also have curly hair and wanted to wear my natural curls for my wedding hair – for any other curly folks, 100% recommend Missy, she knows what she is doing with curls! She was fabulous at styling with no heat tools if that's what you want, and used great styling product that gives you defined curls without being crunchy. Overall Missy is super skilled at what she does, very professional and down to earth in communications, and such a warm and friendly human - getting hair done with Missy was such a lovely way to spend the wedding morning and really helped to ease the stress and nerves on the day!

Missy did the hair for myself and my 4 bridesmaids recently and was an absolute superstar. She was so friendly and ensured everything was perfect before she left and did such a beautiful job on our hair styles. She was able to tailor the styles to suit each person, and even though there were different hair lengths (and extensions for me), the styles all matched and also stayed all day/night long!! Missy also last minute helped with doing my mum and aunties hair which was not included in the original service. Would 10000% recommend Missy!!

Melissa was an absolute blessing to work with on my wedding day! She was so on time, she even arrived before the bridal party! Talk about prepared—Melissa showed up well-equipped and ready to work her magic, and she did just that. She helped my bridesmaids feel included and calm, which made the morning so much more enjoyable. She even came to the rescue when my mum’s hair started going wild and gave her a quick fix that saved the day! Now here’s the funny part—I actually cancelled with Melissa six months before the wedding (huge mistake), but I HAD to rebook her three weeks before because no other hairstylist even came close to her incredible work. Seriously, she’s just that good! Melissa is not only an insanely talented stylist, but she’s also funny, sweet, and so easy to chat with. She made the entire process a joy. Plus, she took so many behind-the-scenes photos that captured moments we’ll treasure forever. And, as a little bonus, thanks to her I now had 6 months’ worth of bobby pins supplied by Missy!

Best hairstyles for an older bride

Hello. I'm an older bride getting married for the second time. I'd like some advice please on hairstyles that suit mature brides. My hair is medium length. Many thanks.

I say keep it simple and elegant. Soft curls , soft Hair ups make a great look.

What if I don't want professional hair and make up?

I never wear make up except for special occasions. I don't like the look of fake eyelashes and caked on make up. I am wanting a fairly simple hair style and natural looking makeup for my wedding. I have 2 sisters with some good quality hair straighteners/curlers/etc and intend to get some good quality make up, do trial runs and keep things fairly simple but also nicely done. We have always done each other hair & makeup at previous weddings we have been to. But is this wise? What are the downsides of DIYing our hair and makeup?

I can say I have had brides do their own but have had make up which is great for Photography and Film. I would say pay a profeshional only due to lighting and Photography you can come out white where you have make up and natural colour on neck... It's totally up to you but I say even if you get a student learning or a friend that is a makeup artist... I am a hairdresser by trade and I also have had my brides cry with me after and said they wished they got lashes on like their girls. Hair is different if your sisters can do it and your happy that is great. But still would recommend a hair dresser doing a soft style to match your dress. But this is can be a right or wrong answer I say to my brides it's your day and what ever you want it's ok. You don't have to be any different to what you have every day. Some times too much presure is put on you but all ways stay true to your self and you know deep down what you like and don't like and remember photography shows every thing.

Hi! Wondering what to do with my lashes for my wedding. Should I get eyelash extensions, or should I ask for false individual lashes? Is there a preference from a makeup artist's perspective too?

My brides are prob the most go with the make up artist choice the girls I work with always have a selection and that way you can always change your mind on the day and the trial you always try one type and can change on the day.

I have also had a few brides get extentions and were very happy.

I think it comes down to try extentions and see if you like them first months out from the wedding and if you like them that may tell where your heart is.
