FAQ

Will the artists doing the trial be the same as the wedding day?

YES!! Absolutley no questions asked we would never cancel our booked stylist and send a replacement. The only instance would be an emergency crisis to which I can report has never happened in 14 years of business.

Do you book multiple weddings on the same day?

We only book our teams to one wedding per day. We would never overbook and rush you to get to another appointment. YOU are our only priority on your special day.

What happens if I am not quite sure about my hair and makeup and want to tweak things on the wedding day.

We always encourage you to participate in a pre wedding hair and makeup trial to ensure that you are comfortable and happy with your chosen style however we do understand that you may want to tweak things on the day. If yourself or a bridal party member would like to make some changes then our stylists are willing and happy to work with you to get it right. We want everybody to love their looks and feel amazing, afterall that is our job.

Of all the things that went wrong on my wedding day, hair and make-up were not on the list. Kay did such an amazing job on myself and the wedding party. I'm so happy that I at least had one vendor that I could just trust and not even have to think about. She took all the stress out of the getting ready process, was super receptive to feedback, immediately fixed anything I wasn't happy with, and just made all of us middle aged women look like absolute supermodels! I couldn't have been happier.

Have you ever had the most perfect experience with your hair and makeup? The staff at Hollywood Brides are the ones to make that happen. The ladies were so talented and professional while having an amazing time! They brought an incredibly fun and positive energy to my hair and makeup trial and my wedding day and the results were amazing too. Great question!  At Hollywood Brides we actually don’t follow “trends” too closely, because they tend to come and go. What looks fashionable now may feel dated when you look back on your photos in 10 or 20 years’ time. Instead, we tailor every look to the individual bride, your features, your style, your dress, and your overall wedding vibe. However in saying that it seems that our Signature look which is glowy natural to soft glam is currently popular.  This vibe is timeless, elegant, and classy. The kind of look that enhances you and still feels beautiful and authentic years down the track. Trends can inspire, but our goal is to create a bridal look that feels personal, polished, and everlasting.  if you’re not sure about makeup, that’s exactly what the consultation and trial are for. We’ll explore together what suits you best. x

Do you pay for a wedding hair and make up trial?

We charge for wedding hair and makeup trials, as they allow us to dedicate the necessary time and resources to ensure you look and feel your best on your special day. The trial is a wonderful opportunity to explore different styles and find the perfect look that suits you.  It is probably even more important that we both feel comfortable with each other and we can competently execute the look you are after. Expecting tradespeople to work for free is not reasonable for several reasons: <ol> <li>Professional Expertise: Tradespeople have spent years acquiring skills, training, and certifications. Their expertise is valuable, and they deserve to be compensated for their knowledge and experience.</li> <li>Cost of Living: Like everyone else, tradespeople have bills to pay, including rent or mortgage, utilities, and other living expenses. Working for free is not a sustainable option for them.</li> <li>Tools and Equipment: Many trades require specialised tools and equipment, which can be costly to purchase and maintain. Expecting free labor ignores the investment they have made in their profession.</li> <li>Time Commitment: Every job requires time for planning, travel, execution, and cleanup. This time could be spent on other paid work, so asking for free work disregards the value of their time.</li> <li>Business Operations: Many tradespeople operate their own businesses, which come with overhead costs like insurance, licenses, and permits. If you are a lover of all things beauty and have some serious makeup game, then I think you are ready to handle your own bridal makeup.  Let's face it (pun intended) you know your own face better than anyone, you know what products suit you and how well they wear throughout the day.  Like never before consumers now have access to purchase Pro Products and tap into incredible information from talented people. Tips, tricks and product reviews from the world’s most sought after makeup artists are just a YouTube or Instagram click away.  However if makeup isn't your thing or you just want to relax then definitely hire a professional for the day.  Always have a pre-wedding trial to make sure you are comfortable and confident with the artist and look.
