How fresh do wedding flowers need to be?

How long will wedding flowers stay fresh? Can I have them delivered the day before the wedding so the venue can be styled in advance? Or should I order silk or dried flowers to give me more time to work with?

Hi,

Flowers are usually partially prepared the day before and kept fresh in our coolroom.  It is generally better to have the flowers delivered to you on the day, unless you have a coolroom/ fridge/ or cool space to store them. If you are having an installation of some sort, we would do that on site on the day. In winter, it is a little easier, obviously because of the cooler weather.

Hope that helps :-)

Most flowers are pretty hardy, so having them delivered the day before the wedding would be fine. As long as they are hydrated and the room isn't too hot.

Hi, Grace here from iluvflowers. I always buy the best , the freshest or premium flowers to use for weddings. I find that it still looks so fresh on the day of the wedding.  Maybe a bit dearer for the freshest available but it gives me peace of mind that it'll still look at its best on wedding day. For me if you pay , and trust the services offered you get the best! But of course once delivered a day before the event it should be looked after as well that it stays in the water to drink! Tender loving care on both side works all the time. All the things that should be done to care for flowers must be done! Cheers and I hope that helps?? For big events that require a lot of flowers for big installations it can be mixed with artificial & fresh flowers.

Hello my bridal flower friend

Thats a great question. Weddings are stressful and usually come with an endless to do list! Here at Eva Blossom Flowers we offer an amazing range of artificial flowers that look incredibly realistic and fresh but can be made ahead of time to save you time and stress in the final 24 hours before your day. You can have your flowers organized days, weeks or months in advance and they will look as gorgous when they arrive, as they do on your special day. Also remember, that fresh flowers need care on the day too. If you wedding is going to be in summer, you would have to be constatly putting our bouquet back into water all day to ensure it doesn't wilt and if you're having arbour flowers, they will need to be cared for regularly to ensure they look their best. Hope this is helpful. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you would like to chat about your artificial flower options. Happy planning. Kathy xx (0437008178 | evablossomflowers.com)

Hi

We ensure to have the flowers pickup fresh from a wholesaler 3-4 days before the day. This allows time for processing of the stock & also ensures we still have the required time to replace the stock if it has not met our quality standards.

A wedding day is next to one of the most import days in our lives, attention to detail & stress free is how we foresee this day panning out.

Our packages can also include hire of mobile cool room vehicles if the wedding venue is remote or over a weekend.

We always style flowers on the day of the event _ most of the venues we install usually have weddings the day before so Its not possible.

If the flowers were in water and the temperature was cool _ it would be fine the day before _ but it would certainly depend on the type of flowers

you are choosing_ there are lots of factors that will be beyond your control - so my advice is to choose a professional to look after your florals

Hi there,

Your flowers can be safely delivered to your venue the day before as long as a few key rules are followed.  As an Event Florist, I wouldn't recommend it by any means as you are at risk of alot of variables and things happening outside your control but it can be done.

They must have these key things

* a hrydration source and it should be clean and fresh water

* a cool and dry place out of direct sunlight, don't store them in a fridge or cold room though as they can wilt and even die

* be in a good and healthy condition to begin with

How long they last also depends on what stage of bloom they are at.

For example reflexed roses have been handled to the point where the petals are flexible enough to be folded back and generally don't last too long after this stage.  Closed or just open roses, given the right  conditions and temperature generally should last longer. But it really depends on the look you are going for and what stage and condition they are to begin with.

It really does depend on what you will be using the flowers for and how they will be displayed.  Table florals as an example should always be provided in a water source, whether they are in a vase or oasis tray.  If you have opted for table runners with greenery and scattered florals there is generally no water source unless of course water tubes are used and this depends if they can be well hidden or not.

So, if you can have your flowers in a water source, are in good condition to begin with and kept in a cool and dry place then the flowers should be perflectly fine for your Wedding if delivered the day before.

Hi there,

As long as the flowers are in water, fresh flowers will be fine to be delivered the day before your wedding. I usually buy wedding flowers at least 3 days prior to a wedding to ensure that the flowers open in time and are at their best.

Hope that helps!

Cheers, Catherine
