Here’s what else you need to know about Making Memories with Deb:
“I spent a lovely morning today with Deb, helping to prep flowers ready for her to assemble bouquets and corsages for a wedding tomorrow – a great way to escape the heat outside and surrounded by beautiful fresh flowers! I must say that Deb’s care and attention to detail when making up the bouquets was amazing! 5 exquisite bouquets including the bride’s, plus 13 button holes, 1 corsage, 2 flower girl baskets and “aisle marker” arrangements. All I can say is what stunning work Deb!!” Meeta
Besides flowers, what other decor elements do you supply?
I love being given the scope to coordinate the entire ceremony set up, as I have multiple arches/ arbours, seating options, signing tables and chairs and stunning flower entry statements available for hire at very competitive prices. I have macrame backdrops, drapery and even a gorgeous carved cow skull (with flowers on her head of course!) to decorate the scene as well as a wide range of rustic ladders and boho props. Best of all are my stunning white peacock chairs that suit any setting and make the couple look like royalty! Creativity is my calling.
What else would you like couples to know about what you do?
Because the wholesale cost of fresh flowers is considerable, I minimise this cost by foraging from friend’s gardens and I work from home which means no florist shop overheads like rent and staff wages. The couple pays what I pay for the flowers, without mark up. I just add my labour fee.....you can’t get any fairer than that!
As well as fresh flowers for the bridal party, arbour, aisle markers and reception, I am able to hire stunning faux arrangements from my huge selection-made to suit your wedding- and at a fraction of the price of fresh. They not only look perfect all day and in any weather, but they are also bulletproof when the boys start horsing around.
“Deb did the flowers for my wedding and did an amazing job! The flowers were vibrant and beautiful, and it was so great working with Deb! She was so open and willing to work with very vague instructions, achieving incredible results. Couldn’t recommend her more highly!” Anisha

Would like to have an abundance of flowers for our wedding and looking for either florists that work with both fresh and faux flowers or florists that work with fresh flowers that would be willing to work with a faux florist and vice versa. The wedding is Friday 13th August 2027 and the venue has been booked.
How far in advance do you need to order wedding flowers?
Making Memories with Deb
If you don't order your flowers early you risk the florists being fully booked. Personally I prefer to know at least a couple of months prior as it can take some time to sort out the style, size and types of flowers that are preferred, and then I always order 3 weeks before the wedding date.

As a general rule of thumb, most brides prefer fresh flowers for arrangements that are close to guests- such as aisle marker flowers and reception table decor.
Faux arrangements are often used as arch arrangements or one off decorations, however some brides also want them for the bridal party flowers in order to keep them forever.
Good quality faux flowers and foliage are not cheap, and many suppliers will not have the quantity required for all the reception tables (for example). It is often more economical to use fresh for these. Quality faux flowers are however a smart addition to bridal party flowers if the theme colour or type of flower is out-of-season or not available. An example of this is using blue flowers to augment an Australian natives bouquet- as blue is seldom if ever available except in dyed products, Another example is when the faux flower resembles the fresh so well that it is not detectable as faux and in fact is more robust than the fresh. Examples are lliums and orchids.
Another aspect to the comparative cost is that some items-such as arch arrangements- may be far more economical hired in faux flowers at a fraction of the cost that something similar could be made in fresh. I have a large range of these that can be adapted to suit any colout theme.
Both faux and fresh flowers can be beautiful in the hands of a professional - when used in the right place. I would be very happy to assist with both. Best wishes Deb
