We love giving each of our brides our full attention, so we recommend booking an appointment to experience After Five at its best. However, if you find yourself nearby and decide to pop in, we’ll always do our best to accommodate you or arrange a time that works.

We recommend starting your dress shopping journey 9–12 months before your wedding. This allows time for ordering (typically 6–8 months) and any alterations or final fittings, so everything is perfect and stress-free for your big day.
When you arrive, make yourself at home, relax in our stylish lounge and browse our gowns. After check-in, your consultant will introduce herself and guide you to a private room. You’ll share your dream dress ideas and get an overview of the appointment. Then, we’ll pop the bubbles and start trying on gowns! You’ll choose dresses with help from your friends and our expert team. Just bring an open mind, positive vibes, and your crew ready to enjoy the experience!
Ready-to-wear gowns are pre-designed and made in standard sizes, available to try on and buy with minimal wait or alterations. They offer a quicker, often more affordable option than custom dresses, perfect for last-minute events or those who want to see the gown before committing.
Our wedding dresses range from $1,000 to $5,000, with options to suit a variety of styles and budgets. Formalwear starts at $280 and goes up to $2,000. We offer a curated selection that balances quality, style, and value, so you can find the perfect dress without the stress.
A trunk show is a special event at a bridal boutique where a designer's collection is showcased for a limited period. These events often feature new or unique styles that aren't always available at the boutique. Special discounts are usually offered during trunk shows, making it an excellent opportunity to find your perfect gown.

Visit our modern boutique just a stone’s throw from Brisbane’s CBD at 1/130 Kingston Road, Underwood QLD 4119. Try on your favourites in a relaxed, welcoming space with expert help every step of the way.
Made-to-order gowns are created after you place your order, based on your chosen style and size. They often allow small customisations, like sleeves or fabric changes depending on the designer. While not fully custom, they offer a more personal fit and require a longer lead time than ready-to-wear.
No worries! We have a small collection of ready-to-wear gowns and samples available for immediate purchase. Perfect for brides on a tight timeline who still want a beautiful dress without the wait.

Get Expert AdviceHow far in advance do I actually need to order my wedding dress for a wedding?
I found a dress I love, but the boutique is suggesting I buy now to allow for production and alterations. I still have another appointment in a few weeks to try on a specific style I’ve had my eye on, but I am worried that waiting until the end of the month might be cutting it too close. I need to know if buying nine months out is a genuine requirement or if I am being pushed into a decision earlier than necessary.
After Five
Nine months is actually a very normal and realistic timeframe for ordering a wedding dress, especially if it’s a made-to-order gown. Most bridal gowns can take anywhere from 4–8 months to arrive depending on the designer, fabric availability, and shipping timelines, and alterations are typically recommended to begin around 8–12 weeks before the wedding.
That said, you also shouldn’t feel pressured into making a decision before you’re ready. If your next appointment is only a few weeks away, you likely still have time to explore that option before committing, particularly if your wedding isn’t until next year. The main thing to keep in mind is that leaving it too late can sometimes limit designer availability, rush options, or increase alteration pressure closer to the date.
Our advice is usually to order once you genuinely feel confident in your decision, while still allowing enough time for production and fittings so the process stays enjoyable and stress-free rather than rushed.
