The size of the cake really depends on how many people you are having, if you are serving the cake as dessert of finger slices and if you want to keep the top tier, if you supply your cake artist with this information they will recommend what they think would be best for you.

2-3 tiers is standard but alot of wedding parties also like the trend of a large low single tier, equally beautiful!

Generally based on guest numbers... happy planning! : )

Wedding cake tiers are based on the style you like and the servings required. 2 or 3 tiers are the most popular

for average size weddings.

A single tier cake is often used as a cutting cake when cupcakes are displayed on a stand are given to the guests,

I'd say there's no such thing as "normal"! The number of tiers for each couple is determined based on a range of factors including:

1. The number of guests,

2. Portion size (i.e. whether the cake is the only dessert vs. whether there is already another dessert in the menu), and

3. Aesthetic preference.

Tiers also come in different sizes - for example, the smallest three tier cake I make serves 54 dessert portions (108 coffee portions), while the largest serves 135 dessert portions (270 coffee portions). That's quite a difference! 54 portions could also be catered for with a larger two tier - there are so many options to make the cake perfect for you.

Having said all that, generally, an elopement or intimate wedding might have one tier, a small-medium wedding might have 2-3 tiers, and a large wedding would have 3-4+ tiers.

It really depends on the number of guests and the look you are after. I find that a 3 or 4 tier cake is the most common in wedding cakes.

Hi it will depend on the style you're after and the number of guests to work out a suitable number of tiers. Most common are two or three tiers.  These can be made as petite cakes or standard size.

The cake size depends on the design you would like to achieve and of course how many people attending.
