I'm Madeleine, the Chef/Owner of Cake Designs by The Larder. With over a decade of experience creating exquisite wedding cakes, I collaborate with clients to craft one-of-a-kind masterpieces for special occasions. Cake is a form of edible art to me, using the finest ingredients and staying current with design trends. We want everyone to enjoy our creations so we provide, vegan, gluten free, nut free, dairy free options. 

We require a minimum of 3 months lead time for bookings. This allows us to meticulously design and create your arrangements without feeling rushed.

In the creative world of art and design, it's totally normal to find inspiration in other people's work. It's great to borrow ideas and elements from different sources but remember, it's crucial to put your own spin on things and not just copy someone else's design. By gathering bits and pieces from various sources, we can create a one-of-a-kind final product that's perfectly tailored to your tastes and needs.

Yes, for all our bookings no matter how big or small we require a 20% deposit to lock in and confirm your booking.

It wasn’t the first time that I got Maddie to custom design (flavour and design) cake. My sister and I have always go to her when we needed a special cake (birthday, engagement and wedding). It was a no brainer to have her when we were planning our wedding. I wanted something light, with texture and also indulgent and also speckled of saltiness. I suggested hojicha as the cake base and wanted to include her signature caramel sauce. She came back with the rest of the components and made it better! She is so talented and adventurous with flavours. Absolutely love our experience with Maddie and would recommend her to anyone!

I was so blown away with the masterpiece of a cake that Maddie made for me for my special day! Not only was it a piece of art that all of my guests were blown away from but it tasted DELICIOUS! It was even better than I imagined and I was so grateful I had her helping me find the flavour I was looking for. Maddie was so incredible to work with, she was so helpful throughout the whole process (including delivering it to me safely and educating me on how to safely store it). For anyone looking to have a beautiful and delicious cake made with attention to detail and careful consideration of what you want and need, I highly recommend you enquire with Cakes Designs by The Larder!

I had cakes for my engagement, bridal shower and my wedding made by the Larder. Every cake was so well done - they were so delicious and looked stunning. We didn’t make it easy with some of the designs we wanted, but Maddie nailed it every time. We had compliments from guests for every cake.
