Hello. We're considering getting married in the country but are wondering, if we find the celebrant we love, if they generally travel to do weddings. How do they price for that?

I travel all over Victoria and interstate. I don't charge for travel in Victoria.
It depends on the celebrant. I drove 3 hours to do a ceremony last weekend at a winery in Gippsland but added on extra to cover petrol and a night's accommodation. It was a lovely wedding and I'm really glad that I travelled to be there. The most cost effective thing to do is look around at celebrants in the area that you are holding your wedding and see if any of them are a good fit. If not, find a celebrant who is willing to travel. Good luck

I personally cover Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast, the Gold Coast and I've been known to go all the way to Toowoomba - at no extra cost. If you are getting married in a rural area, just ask what the Celebrant charges for the journey if there is any extra. ??
Each celebrant would have their own limits and policies. I love travelling to new locations and seeing what different venues are like. Other celebrants prefer to turn up to the same venue week after week. I tend to consider petrol costs and add them to my price for travelling. If overnight accomodation is needed I talk to the couople to see what is availalbe in their area and would put the price up to cover some of that cost.
This is totally up to the individual celebrant. Some travel far and wide - even interstate. However, their fee to you will include travel costs and possibly accommodation.
Other celebrants choose not to travel too far beyond their area. Personally, (and I know many celebrants who do the same) will travel one hour away from home - give or take. Please remember that now petrol costs is a real issue for Celebrants.
I love to see other areas in my region.
This also depends if a Celebrant does more than one wedding in the day. I have a rule for myself, that I never do more than one wedding in any given day.
Cheers Jan
I'll go wherever the job takes me, and I love traveling around!!!
I simply charge the travel costs (by KM) and a nights accommodation :)

I have a kilometre radius (50km) that is included in the pricing of all my ceremonies. Any extra kilometres in addition to 50km is charged at $1 per kilometre.
I travel anywhere in Victoria.
Many celebrants don't travel, however MY fee includes travel, so I'll travel anywhere for love. I'll also licenced in the US, so travel quite a bit for lovers big days!
I am in Queensland and do charge for travel over 30 kms from my home in Currumbin
If you are wanting a celebrant to fly in to you it would be expected that expense would be part of the fee
Go well with your wedding plans

A country wedding is a beautiful choice. Have you considered the south coast of NSW where you get the beauty of the country as well as the fresh seas air?
I am very pleased to see that you place value in your connection to the Celebrant above pricing.
Many of my couples travel great distances to be married in my region and so have paid their own travel costs but received a wonderful 'local' wedding
while others choose to have me travel to their distant venue. Though I am three hours south of Sydney, many of my bookings are in Sydney or further.
An authorised Civil Celebrant can conduct a marriage ceremony anywhere within Australian borders.
Priests and ministers however are limited to the parish in which they are based.
Your investment in my services (My fees) are listed on my webpage where you would see that I charge for out-of-pocket expenses including travel time, kilometres, tolls, and accommodation where applicable.
You need to talk to your chosen Celebrant to determine availability, ability to travel, and specific costs
