I love being a celebrant! As cliche as it may sound, I truly believe I have the best job in the world!
My four children are all grown up and living lives of their own – I needed a hobby, my hobby turned into my full time career.
Your freinds and family are those closest to you so it makes sense that you want them to witness your special day, they are welcome to do a reading or read a poem, I have many for them to choose from, or they may have a special reading that is meaningful to you.
I have many beautiful vows that you may choose or I will assist you to write you own if you wish, the choice is yours.
I recommend a wedding rehearsal before the big day, but it your choice, some people like to wing it and to others - it is a must.

I will supply all the legal documents that you will need.
A Notice of Intended Marriage form needs to be completed and lodged to me at least one month and no longer than 18 months prior to your wedding day, I will supply this document and assist in completing it if needed.
A Declaration of no Leagal Impediment to Marriage is completed, I will bring it to the rehearsal a week or two prior to your wedding day.
A Marriage Register, an Official Certificate of Marriage and a Certificate of Marriage are all signed on the wedding day, which I supply - you dont need to worry about any of the legal paperwork-thats my job, you have enough to worry about!
No, you do not legally have to give a ring to each other, some men find it unsafe to work with a ring on their hand.
The ring is symbolic and is a lovely way to show the world that you are married but neither of you have to include rings in your ceremony.
There is no extra cost for a rehearsal, it is included in your Celebrant fee, I always recommend a rehearsal a week or two prior to the wedding day at the same time as the ceremony,
I will supply my state of the art PA system with bluetooth, ipod connectivity, cordless microphone and I wear a headset.
Your family and friends love to hear what you are saying as you make promises and vows to your partner.
I always arrive at least one hour prior to the start of the ceremony, there are last minute things to check to ensure everything is in place before the beginning of the ceremony.
I chat to the guests, ask them to take teir seats and get comfortable, then ask that they turn mobile phones to silent during the ceremony
The leagal part to your vows (which must be said) I call upon the persons her present to witness that I (full name) take you (full name) to be my lawfully wedded husband/wife. Other than that sentence, you may say what ever your hearts desire!
Your wedding vow is a pledge, a promise to the one that you love, it should be meaningful to you and something that you would naturally say, if you have no idea about Shakespear.... you wouldn't recite a sonnet from Hamlet-its not you
