who are the witnesses if you elope?

Anyone over 18 can be your witnesses so depending where you are, friends or venue staff or even people passing by that are up for the task!

As long as they're over 18, can understand English and witness the ceremony, they're in!

Best of luck with the elopement!

Kind Regards

If my divorce is not finalised, but I want to remarry... can I file a Notice of Intention to Marry?

Yes absolutely, we just tick the box ' divorce pending' then once it comes in, we can add all the relevant deets then.

You just need to make sure your divorce is going to be completed in time for the big day as you don't want the stress of it getting too close...

We are coming to Australia for a holiday and we want to get married there, it this legal?

Sure can!

do you think celebrants would be up for flying to officiate a destination wedding?

would i have to pay for their flights accommodation food etc

Absolutely! Most of us love a travel adventrue!

How to choose bridesmaids?

I want to have bridesmaids at my wedding but I have no close girl friends or sisters that I am particularly close to. My daughter who will be 9 and my youngest sister (19) are all I have but neither live close by and neither are maid of honor material. What should I do?

I've performed many a ceremony that doesn't have any wedding party at all, and it's absolutely fine.

In saying that, your daughter and youngest sister both sound like good options, but also, don't be tied into tradition, you can also invite male friends/family if that's more appropriate. The great things about weddings these days, is they're not limited by tradition or culture, you can do what ever feels right for you and everyone will accept and embrace it as your decisions.

Best of luck, i'm sure the right people for the job will be found!

Kind Regards

can i ask my celebrant to mention marriage equality during the ceremony?

I'm still looking for one- but this is really important to me

I always offer this option to couples during our intial wedding-planning meeting as it's really important to me as well.

Although some couples don't want to touch on politics during their ceremony, I'm finding more and more people are wanting to make a public statement about their opposition to our current laws.

With this in mind, I have created a little sentence that I offer couples, but if they want to make it punchier or gentler, then it's completely up to them.

Go you, for your support of #marriageequality, we'll get there one day.. I'm sure!

who walks me down the aisle if my dad is no longer with us?

Hey there...

I've had brides walk down with their Mum, their brother, their dog, friend or significant family member in their life, like their uncle/aunty/family friend.

There are no rules my dear and you can get whomever you like.. or don't forget, you don't need to actually walk down with anyone if you don't want to.

In this day and age, the possibilities are endless and that's what's awesome about planning a wedding.

I'm sorry you lost your Dad, but just remember, there are great ways to honour him during the ceremony if you like and there are plenty of other poeple just waiting in the wings for an invitation to walk with you!

Kind regards
