Hi, I'm Theresa, your Gold Coast Marriage Celebrant. I am blessed with a hubby, fur baby, 5 children and 5 of the most adorable grand children. Luckily, they all live on the Gold Coast so lots of family fun for us! I come from a huge family and I have loved weddings and family celebrations for as long as I can remember. Alot of couples choose to include children in their wedding for a truely family orientated ceremony. Finding ways to do this is really limited only by your imagination.
Some of the ways I have seen children included are through unity rituals such as candle or sand ceremonys, a parent reading special vows to a child or at least mentioning the child within the vows, asking the child for their blessing, asking the child to do a reading, and special personalized handshakes between parents and child just to name a few.
Just let their age and comfort level be your guide and keep in mind that when it comes to children things don't always go to plan and that's okay.
It is exciting for the child, endearing for your guests, provides wonderful photo opportunities, and cherished memories for everyone.
