The easy answer is NO, you don't have to write or say personal vows....
BUT ... Do I recommend it... YES, absolutely!
About 90% of my couple choose to use this part of the ceremony to express to their lover WHY they are picking them to commit to... Its also your chance to say I love you to each other and share with your guests an intimate inside of your relationship...
Yes, there may be tears... there may also be laughs... These are the moments you will remember in 20 years.
Even if public speaking isn't your thing... Its worth it!
They can be short and straight to the point or incorporate a long romantic tale...
If you are finding it tricky to start... aim for 1 -2 mins.
As soon as you lock in your date and venue, I would also lock in your preferred celebrant.
You don't want to "just miss out" To book your ceremony touch base, and confirm the date and ceremony requirements (if any are known yet) and the location, and often paid a deposit to secure your date.
I will then arrange a meeting to get together and collect more details about your big day!
NO ... Again this is your ceremony ... so do it your way... If you want to have a parent, sibling or loved one walk you down the isle... Great! Go for it...
