Hello, my name is Natasha Hill. I am a full-time professional and experienced Marriage Celebrant, MC & Content Creator based in Brisbane, QLD. With 15 years experience, I have performed 1,000+ ceremonies. Whilst based in Brisbane, I am more than willing to travel to your dream location. Love is incredibly powerful and getting married is how we show each other and the world how strong our love is.

Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, so it makes sense to choose a marriage celebrant that you feel most comfortable with. Your Celebrant should be able to understand your feelings and ideas of love and communicate them well. This can make all the difference to your special day.

I extremely professional and take pride in my appearance and put the ‘O’ in Organised. I have meticulous planning and attention to detail, which stems from working in the legal industry for 19 years, am reliable and efficient, friendly, down-to-earth with a bubbly personality.

With more than 300 x 5 star Google Reviews and a total of 21 x ABIA Wedding Industry Awards over the past 15 years, including 890+ Online Ratings, I was awarded in July 2025 a Designer of Dreams Award for Top 10 Celebrants in Australia (9th in Australia, out of 9,000+ Celebrants nationally) and in the State Awards (in November 2025), came in as a Finalist for both Celebrant (99.87%) & MC (99.70%), which I am super happy with :)

A little about me.. - I celebrated my 40th Birthday in Hawaii in June 2017 - I met my soul mate in 1993 when I was just 16 years old - I eloped to Italy in 1999 - I lived and grew up in Sydney - I worked as a Head Waiter in a Wedding Venue for 4 years - I took a year off in 2013/14 to travel around Australia in a Caravan - I have travelled to Europe, the UK, Japan, Tasmania & NZ - I have 2 sisters, 2 nephews & a niece - I love Italian food, wine & socialising - I have 2 cats, Solar & Luna

My Simple 'Legals Only' ceremony is ideal for just the couple + 2 legal witnesses and includes:

What should I look for in a Celebrant?

With such a large number of Celebrants now registered to perform legal ceremonies, couples are spoilt for choice, although this can be quite overwhelming.

Whilst cost is important for budgets, getting married is one of the most important days of your life, so it makes sense to choose a Celebrant that you feel most comfortable with to help you make one of life’s most important promises.

Your Celebrant should be able to understand your feelings and ideas of love and communicate them well. This can make all the difference to your special day. A Celebrant is, after all THE most important part of your Wedding Day, yet usually the lease expensive of all your wedding suppliers.

I believe the most important credentials of an Authorised Marriage Celebrant are Professionalism; Experienced; Good reputation; Reliable and trustworthy; Accessible and approachable; Well respected and highly regarded as well as Welcoming and accommodating

So where do you start?

The first step is perhaps to search for Celebrants in your area and have a good look through their website. What do they include in their ceremony packages? Are they easily contactable? Do they present well and suit your wedding style?

It’s also a great idea to take the time to read through half a dozen Testimonials/Reviews to see what other couples have said and how have they rated their experience.

The next step is to contact the celebrant and arrange a face-to-face, no obligation meeting. This is an opportunity to meet and greet, for your Celebrant to find out all about you and to make sure you feel totally comfortable with your choice. It’s important that you are able to relate and communicate well together.

Once you have made this important decision, your Celebrant will guide you through the ceremony process by providing a thorough explanation of the legal paperwork and what is required of you.

Will I be given a choice as to what my Celebrant wears?

It is always a great idea for a Celebrant to compliment your wedding colour theme, rather than stand out and be the focal point.

I have put together 'Wedding Wardrobe' and allow my couples to choose what they would like me to wear and they absolutely love it! :)

When I get married can I change my given name at the same time as I change my surname

My given name is currently Rebecca but I have only ever been called Bec, I am wondering when I get married can my celebrant register my name with births deaths and marriages as Bec (Husbands Surname) or do I need to apply to change my given name before the ceremony? Thank you.

Hi Bec, your Celebrant should be able to answer this question for you (if you have one yet?)

Once you are married, the only name you can 'change by marriage' is your surname to your partner's surname, either dropping your surname or hypennating it. If you want to change your first name, then this would have to be done as a formal legal name change through the Registry of Births, Deaths & Marriages.

If you have time, you can change your first name to 'Bec' before you get married - that way all the marriage certificates will have 'Bec' on them, and then you can proceed to change your surname by marriage afterwards. Hope this information helps.
