Having married couples from dozens of cultural backgrounds — from Afghan-Punjabi fusion celebrations to Kerala-Chinese and Haryana-Nepal unions — I understand that no two love stories are ever the same. A few questions couples often ask me:
Do you only perform ceremonies in Hindi or Punjabi? Not at all — most of my ceremonies are in English, with Hindi or Punjabi elements woven in wherever a couple wants to honour their family's language and traditions. I'm just as comfortable running a fully English ceremony as a bilingual one.
Can I get married in my own garden or backyard? Absolutely. I regularly perform ceremonies at private homes, and I also offer my own Bella Vista garden as an intimate, no-hire-fee venue if you're after something more personal and low-key.
How far do you travel? I'm based in Bella Vista and cover Sydney and the Hills District as my home ground — Castle Hill, Baulkham Hills, Kellyville, Rouse Hill, and Norwest — with regular ceremonies further across Western Sydney and Greater Sydney by arrangement.
Can you help with the legal paperwork if we're on a student visa? Yes. I regularly work with couples who need their Notice of Intended Marriage lodged correctly and on time to support a partner visa application, and I'll guide you through exactly what's required and when.
Do you incorporate religious or cultural rituals into a legal ceremony? Yes — I can weave rituals like phera, blessings, and garland exchanges into a fully legal civil ceremony, or coordinate around a separate religious service, whichever suits your day.

Absolutely, and it's the part of my work I enjoy most. I've created ceremonies blending Punjabi, Afghan, Nepali, Haryanvi, Kerala, Chinese and Anglo-Australian traditions. Whether you want a full cultural ceremony, a short legal service alongside a religious one, or something that weaves two heritages together, we'll design it around your families.
Yes. I conduct ceremonies in English, Hindi and Punjabi, and regularly blend two or three languages in a single ceremony so that every guest — including grandparents who may not speak English — follows what's happening. The legal wording must be said in English, but everything around it can be in your language.
Not for the marriage itself — you can marry in Australia regardless of citizenship or visa status. Documents from overseas may need translating by a NAATI-accredited translator, and I'll tell you exactly what's required for your situation. I work with couples from all over the world and I'll guide you through the paperwork step by step.
I'll present you with a commemorative certificate on the day. Your official certificate is issued separately by NSW Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages, and you apply for it after I register your marriage. Processing times vary, so if you need it for a visa, name change or bank, apply as soon as you can and allow several weeks.
Yes. Through Sydney Snapshots I offer wedding photography either as a package with your ceremony or as a standalone service, with a second shooter available for larger weddings. Couples often find it simpler having one person who already knows the run sheet and the family dynamics.
The legal minimum is one month: your Notice of Intended Marriage must be lodged with me at least one month before the ceremony, and no earlier than eighteen months. In practice I'd book earlier than that — Saturdays through spring and autumn fill quickly. If you're closer than a month, get in touch anyway, as there are limited circumstances where a shortening of time can be applied for.
I'm based in Bella Vista in the Hills District and cover greater Sydney — the Hills, Parramatta, the Hunter, the CBD and harbourside venues, the Blue Mountains and the South Coast. I'm also happy to discuss destination ceremonies further afield.
