FAQ
F.R Clothiers has built its reputation on a long-standing commitment to excellence in tailoring and service. Over the past two decades, this foundation has been shaped not only by experience, but by close collaboration with some of the world’s finest tailors and tailoring housesrefining our understanding of construction, pattern making, and the art of the individual fit.
This exposure to global tailoring standards has informed every aspect of our process, allowing us to combine traditional craftsmanship with a modern, precise approach to made-to-measure garments. The result is a service defined by depth of knowledge, technical expertise, and an uncompromising attention to detail.
Our longevity is not simply measured in years, but in the consistency of our standard delivering refined, considered garments backed by decades of experience and world-class influence.
Investing in a high-quality suit is crucial because your wedding is a once-in-a-lifetime event. Unlike everyday purchases, a wedding suit isn’t something you buy frequently, so it’s worth choosing a suit that stands out with superior craftsmanship. A well-made suit not only enhances your special day but also offers a better fit and feel. Cheaper materials often lead to bulkiness and discomfort, whereas a premium suit provides a more tailored, comfortable experience and a refined look. The quality of a suit impacts how it looks and feels, making it a significant part of your wedding investment. Why cut corners on something so important when you can enjoy a suit that truly complements your celebration?
Our standard lead times are approximately 6-8 weeks for suits and overcoats, and around 6 weeks for shirting. These timeframes allow for the careful process of pattern drafting, fitting, and hand-finishing required to achieve a precise, considered result. Please note that lead times may vary slightly depending on fabric selection and mill availability.
For wedding commissions, we strongly recommend allowing additional time. This ensures a relaxed, unhurried experience throughout the entire process, with adequate space for fittings and refinements, and removes any unnecessary pressure in the lead-up to your wedding day.
F.R Clothiers offers a comprehensive suite of design options across jackets, trousers, shirts, waistcoats, and overcoats, allowing each garment to be refined down to the finest detail. From lapel shape and roll, pocket style and placement, button stance and finishing, through to vents, pleats, cuffs, collars, stitching, and internal construction, every element is thoughtfully considered and tailored to the individual.
Our experienced clothiers and fitters provide expert guidance throughout the process, ensuring each design decision aligns with your proportions, lifestyle, and intended use. The result is a garment that is not only visually refined, but intentionally constructed balanced in detail, precise in fit, and distinctly personal.

How long before the wedding should the boys go suit shopping?
F.R Clothiers
We suggest starting the process around12-14 weeks prior as this will give you more options. It will also give use plenty of time to bring in any stock that may have sold through.
The fitting for adjustments we can arrange closer to the wedding, that way we can factor in any changes in weight. Any additional tailoring usually takes around a week and idealy its best to bring your shoes in for this fitting.
I've gained weight since my formal wear was fitted. What are my options?
At what point in the custom made suit process can the measurements be re-taken? What other options would I have?
F.R Clothiers
A custom made garment is a process that requires precise measurements and an experienced tailor. If we have taken your measurements then the next process is to draw up the pattern for your bespoke garments, begin the cutting process and book in the tailoring. At this stage it is to late for a re-measure, so the best approach in the instance of weight change is to make adjustments to your garments on your next fitting.
As we can not predict how much person will change in weight and how that will effect their measurements, we suggest that a weight change of no more than 4-5 kilograms. If you are planning on changing your size then best approach is to get measured as close to the cut off time as possible. Always check our website for lead times so you have maximum options available to you.
