Faversham House offers a matchless romantic country setting that will ensure your wedding day is as individual and special as you are.
Each wedding is tailor made and our friendly personal attention means no stress to you or your partner.
From the moment you arrive, Faversham House is exclusively yours for the weekend, for friends and family to stay for a very special country house wedding. Only one wedding per weekend is held at Faversham House - you have our undivided attention.
The established gardens with mature trees and expansive terraced lawns provide the ideal setting for an elegant garden wedding - or choose one of York’s four beautiful and historic churches for the ceremony and enjoy the reception at Faversham House.
There are loads of gorgeous places for those precious photos - heritage buildings, countryside, including our vineyard.
Faversham House is happy to offer a BYO opportunity for our guests - one of the few quality venues to offer this option. We will help you to select a delicious and distinctive wedding menu, with just the degree of tradition or informality that you want. Our caterer is second to none - and is a really nice guy!

The minute I discovered this beautiful venue online, I knew it was the place I wanted to use for our wedding venue. Our original idea was to have a country themed wedding and being from Perth, we were quite restricted, as not many places in Perth cater for guests of up to 130. I was thrilled when we discovered that Faversham House in York was capable of hosting a wedding for this amount of guests, and even better - they had accommodation for our guests too! All the rooms are beautifully and tastefully decorated, to give that country charm feel and make you feel so relaxed. The service and professionalism is simply outstanding - nothing went wrong throughout the organising process and if there was ever an issue, it would be solved before we even had a chance to worry about it! The owners of Faversham House (Nola & Richard Bliss) are a lovely couple who have a wealth of experience in the industry and really know what it takes to provide exceptional service. Thanks to Nola & Richard and of course the great Faversham House, you really turned our country wedding dream into reality!

I could not have asked for a better day or venue. Nola the owner was was fantastic as were her husband and all of her staff. They were all professional and made sure that every thing ran smoothly. They thought of every little detail and always made sure that things were as you wanted them. Their dog Max was also a total star and so were the two little cats which the children loved playing with. The grounds are beautiful and provide an excelllent setting for a garden wedding. You are able to hire the venue for the whole weekend which was excellent for me because most of my guests had travelled from England and we all stayed in the house for the wedding weekend. We had a bbq on the Friday, breakfast on the Saturday and Sunday and a light lunch for the bridal party on the wedding day. On the day of the wedding Nola arranged caters for the evening meal. All food that I ate during the weekend was delicious and all of my guests commented on how tasty the food was. All of the rooms are great too, the showers are hot and powerful and the beds are large and very comfortable. You have to visit the house to see how nice it all is. What I really loved about this place was how Nola and her staff always go the extra mile, if you have any additional needs they go out of their way to help you and make your day special. I can't praise the venue and staff enough, they made my day.
