The Independent Gembrook was the absolute perfect venue. We held both our ceremony and reception at this beautiful restaurant and it was worth every cent! Our guests raved about the decor, the service and most importantly the outstanding food. It was exactly what we wanted for our half-Argentine wedding. The Independent's events planner, Jess, is an absolute god-send when it comes to planning the big day; helping organise and coordinate various people and vendors. We had originally planned an outdoor ceremony, however, due to impending bad weather we had to move indoors. Jess made this happen as smoothly as possible without any kinks. With Jess' assistance our day ran perfectly. Jess, Mauro and the team made our wedding day the best it could be. We would highly recommend The Independent to any couple planning their wedding.

I went into this unassuming shop after having some trouble finding a wedding dress, Helen took care of me right away. I managed to find a dress that was perfect (it had only come on display that morning), however, if I had ordered it, it would not have arrived in time. So Helen arranged for me to get the dress off the floor. Overall it was a really nice experience and the shop had a good selection of dresses.

Elly was incredibly professional and did a wonderful job making me and my bridesmaid look incredible. Elly is so warm and welcoming she makes the whole makeup experience wonderful. My makeup lasted all day, even with a few tears. I would recommend Elly to anyone looking for beautiful professional makeup.

Paul was a fantastic celebrant, fun, efficient and organised from the start. He has found the perfect balance between comedy, personalisation, warmness and professionalism in his ceremonies. We had so many guests raving about our ceremony and were asking if he was a close friend. 10 out of 10, would recommend.
