I ended up getting my dress from KWH. They don't ask you to make appointments, they treat you nicely, they don't come into the change room with you until you ask them to do up the dress. They have beautiful and flattering dresses, sensible (but not cheap) prices and their dresses are made in Australia.

I was very impressed by the kindness and generous service I experienced at Bridal on Pulteney. It was the first time I felt 'like a bride'. Sadly, they didn't have a dress that really worked for me, which is a shame as they were excellent suppliers.

It came down to two dresses - the one from Mariana Hardwick and Karen Willis Holmes. I was happier with the Hardwick price and they asked me to come back so they could get the same dress brought downstairs in a different tone of ivory. The dresser comes into the room with you (so she sees you in your underwear - it's to stop you taking pictures) and then after doing the dress up, it turns out this ivory dress (same dress) cost $2500 more than the other dress. She then walked off to chat with her friend, so I was stuck in the dress in uncomfortable shoes for half an hour. I think she wanted me to 'fall in love with the dress' as the store was empty. I wasn't impressed.

HORRIBlE! Do not go into this store unless you have a very strong self-esteem, are prepared to be humiliated and don't mind dresses dirty with brown dust and marks. I was told I was fat, that my budget was too cheap and pushed into a completely different style to what suited me. I went to both the Armadale and the Brunswick store and was completely ignored in the Armadale store - tacky, blingy, ugly dresses (it's cleaner than Brunswick, but the same dress costs more in Armadale)

Mark was a lovely, gentle soul. The poor man was sick on our wedding day (and still turned up) and so he brought a second shooter just in case he wasn't able to get the photos we wanted. He still stayed until the end of the day! It's a shame he never included us photos of us on his blog.

Jo, the event planner was incompetent and never returned my phone calls or emails. We signed a contract without venue hire and for a good menu - they tried to downgrade our menu after we signed. After our wedding, we had to beg for the invoice and paid it immediately. We then got a second invoice with venue hire, even though it was not in our contract. The owner Tony Parkinson wouldn't return our calls to complain. We should have taken them to the small claims court but were so over it by this stage. Wish we had gone with Woodstock.

While the service was lovely, Joseph is a personable man and has a charming wife, the shoulders on my husbands suit had lumps in them, no matter how many times we sent it back to be altered. I think they cut his suit incorrectly.

I love Jags! And it was so nice to sit in this beautiful car and spend time with my husband on our wedding day - we really loved the time and the experience to just 'be' on such a busy day. The driver was so sweet and not at all intrusive. We have very happy memories and I really want my own Jag one day!

Alice was easily the best investment we made when we got married. She was kind, organised, had great suppliers (in quality and price) suppliers and headed off several family arguments. I loved her reception styling, it looked beautiful and everyone still raves about it. She went above and beyond! I only wish I had hired her earlier!
