I need to mention the entire wedding was pulled together in 10 weeks as my Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer - Mesothelioma (asbestosis) and I wanted him to walk me down the isle. The dress I chose suited my body shape perfectly and I felt like a real bride. With a small waist and large bust, I was happy that I was able to find something that fit without looking frumpy. Unfortunately I had no bridesmaids and only an elderly arthritic mother to lace up my dress on the big day and I felt it didn't look as good on the day as it did in the shop weeks before when the shop owner laced me up nice and tight. Suggestion to others... make sure you have a strong person to lace up your dress for the big day. Unfortunately one of the custom made removable straps was attached upside down and I didn't realise until I saw photos. But I don't think anyone noticed.

With limited time to fuss around looking for a wedding cake, I googled and saw a special advertised for what looked like an amazing cake. I ordered and paid immediately. But little things came to light afterwards which made me feel flat. There were several tiers (to my eye there were 4) they advised 8 (each tier was double). Only the bottom tier was real cake. The other tiers were foam. We went to 2 sessions of cake tasting to meticulously pick our 2 flavours (for the bottom double tier). Yum yum so fresh. However on the night discovered one of my flavours was NOT what I chose. Myself and my ill father HATE chocolate cake, I would never have ordered it yet that's what we recieved. It looked absolutely amazing though and the guests didnt know about the mistake. I did contact the supplier to provide feedback, they made a small cake as compensation and delivered it, but yet again extremely disappointed with them as they left it on our front porch in the searing 40 degree sun without ringing the doorbell to let us know to bring it inside (we were home all day). The icing was melted.

Wedding Cakes

I first heard the band play live just 4 days before the wedding, and I wasnt disappointed. The guitarist is extremely talented and liaised with me beforehand to choose appropriate songs for the ceremony and reception but was also able to read the room, feel the vibe and create uplifting magic. The female vocalist is amazingly versatile from sultry and velvety smooth to crisp and energetic, singing soulful tunes from many genres. An appropriate mix of professional and fun, I had requested a third musician for my big day and without fault, they sourced a drummer to join their duo. Since the wedding, I have had the pleasure to hear them play around Sydney clubs and pubs and look forward to hearing them play again.

Situated 100m down the road from the Wedding Venue, I chose this photographer because they were recommended by the venue, they were familiar with the area and their portfolio included some well known Aussie celebrities. They were insanely expensive which pushed the cost of our wedding budget out of control. But we were happy with their work, the wedding photos were amazing, I was amazed that 2,000 photos they presented us with were all perfect making it difficult to cull photos for the official wedding album. Solution? Purchase over $10,000 worth of pages for the album to fit them all in!!!!

Wedding Photography

I saw a few venues with water views but looked no further once I saw Sergeants Mess in Chowder Bay, Mosman. I had dreamt of this place since I was 4. They paid attention to fine details and were happy to accommodate special requests. The food was amazing. The view was amazing and as it was Australia Day, we saw harbour fireworks from the reception balcony. Cant wait to be invited to someone elses wedding at this venue. Highly recommend.
