Classic and fun: Jess and Alex’s rustic Tamburlaine Organic Wines wedding

After a romantic beachside proposal, nearlyweds Jess and Alex began their search for a venue to host their “traditional, classic and elegant, yet still fun and relaxed” celebration.

“Tamburlaine is our favourite winery and has, hands down, the best wine in the Hunter Valley,” explains Jess. With gorgeous natural and architectural beauty, it’s not hard to see why this picturesque vineyard setting won Jess and Alex’s hearts.

After pre-wedding beauty rituals with her bridesmaids, Jess dressed in an elegant yet understated white crepe gown. An intimate ceremony for 62 cherished guests took place on Tamburlaine’s sprawling lawn as the sun beamed through the trees. The wedding coordination team from Tamburlaine decorated the area with white chairs and rose petals for the aisle.

Newly pronounced husband and wife, Jess and Alex slipped away for some wedding portraiture as their guests enjoyed canapés and beverages. The winery offered perfect photo opportunities for the couple with plenty of spots in the hedged gardens and rows upon rows of grape vines.

The Lodge provided the ideal space for dinner, drinks and dancing with a three-course sit-down meal catered by The Deck Cafe Lovedale. Ending with a sweet treat, the wedding cake was a tiered creation with a top layer of raspberry and white chocolate and a bottom layer of chocolate mud cake.

As the night evolved, guests took to the dancefloor with DJ Julio serving a mix of requests, chart-toppers, classics, and Fijian songs. When asked if they would do anything differently given the opportunity, Jess said she would want everything to be exactly the same: “The weather was perfect, every single guest and ourselves enjoyed the day and evening, the food and drinks were amazing and the dancefloor was so much fun.” We’re sure their lucky guests would wholeheartedly agree!

Tamburlaine has a beautiful lawn out the front of the lodge with tall trees that were perfect for photos at sunset. There’s also a wonderful deck area that shows off the man made lake. It has an indoor and outdoor location for the ceremony with the lodge for reception. It was perfect as our guests and ourselves didn’t have to go far.
