Josh Abbiss took long-term partner Tamlyn Carman’s love of music to the next level when he popped the question on stage with one of her favourite performers.
“It was like any other night until Josh was asked to come up on stage – he asked me to come up also, then he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him,” Tamlyn, 25, recalls.
“I had no idea at all and at first I was really worried as I can’t sing, play an instrument or dance – I thought, what am I going to do up there?!”
The Perth couple have known each other since they were 15 and, after Josh, also 25, proposed, the couple began planning their romantic vintage wedding.
“Our ceremony was at Monument Hill in Fremantle, we chose this not just for its beautiful views and outdoor location but also as an acknowledgement of both of our grandparents’ involvement in the Australian war history,” Tamlyn says.
The couple wed on November 5, 2016 in front of 100 family and friends. The reception followed at East Fremantle Yacht Club, offering beautiful views over the water.
“Our wedding came together not just with the help of great suppliers but with the work my husband and I, our families and friends put into it,” the bride says.
“It was truly the best days of our lives.”

“We had quite a large bridal party there were five groomsmen, seven bridesmaids, five flower girls, a page boy and Josh’s sister and our close friend were our witnesses,” Tamlyn says.
The couple travelled in style thanks to So Cal Limos.
