Odessa and Nathan’s spring pub wedding blending Welsh and Filipino traditions

When Odessa and Nathan first met on Hinge, an instant connection quickly turned into a life together. Nathan proposed on Christmas morning in their pyjamas at 7am, hiding the ring inside a Christmas stocking before dropping to one knee.
When planning their spring pub wedding, they envisioned an intimate celebration with 50 guests that thoughtfully brought their two worlds together. The cultural fusion was woven into every detail of their attire. Odessa wore a custom gown flown in from the Philippines, designed by Nicole Lim, paired with Paradox London kitten heels. Nathan wore a traditional hand-embroidered Barong Tagalog made from pineapple fibre by Flavorosa, customized with a delicately embroidered Welsh daffodil to honor his heritage alongside her roots. Their wedding party reflected the seasonal palette, with bridesmaids wearing lemon yellow and marigold gowns from Azazie and holding custom arrangements by Kiki and Blooms.

The celebration began with a solemn Catholic ceremony at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Acton, officiated by Father Patrick. Guests then gathered at George IV in Chiswick for welcome drinks, canapés, and a multi-course dinner catered in-house. “What truly made it perfect was the service,” Odessa shared. “The coordinators were calm, organised, and incredibly attentive, making the whole day run seamlessly.” Photography and videography were captured by Tina and Edward from The Snapshot Cafe. “They brought such warmth, creativity, and calm to the process,” Odessa noted. “They captured all the little, emotional moments that truly felt like us.” After dinner, guests enjoyed a two-tier cake featuring classic Filipino ube and chocolate tiers crafted by Cristina Crisologo, before taking to the dance floor with music provided by Filippo from JW DJ Agency. Reflecting on their celebration, the couple shared, “We honestly wouldn’t change a single thing. The day felt completely, beautifully us, and we were able to be fully present in every moment.”
