Nikki and Andrew's dreamy garden wedding captured by Duuet Photography

Lovebirds Nikki and Andrew had known each other for years through friends before they officially met at a Melbourne Cup BBQ. “Andrew proposed to me at home on my birthday in our pjs over cheesecake, and now we are here,” says Nikki. The couple reached out to Darcy and the planning team at Easy Weddings to create a relaxed garden party wedding captured by DUÜET.

Nikki had always dreamt of having her wedding at their friend’s private property on Mornington Peninsula. Complete with gorgeous gardens, the property holds a special place in Nikki’s heart as they have been visiting it for holidays for over ten years. Once they had locked in their perfect venue, Nikki and Andrew sought the help of Darcy at Easy Weddings to assemble a dream team of suppliers.

For their wedding on January 14th, 2023, Nikki chose a delicate silk tulle gown with a low back and bohemian twist. Andrew’s suit, complete with burnt orange bow tie to match the colour palette, was by the tailoring experts at Insitchu.

The couple exchanged their vows in a romantic garden ceremony in front of 100 guests with Tim Barnes, one of Melbourne’s premier celebrants, officiating with his signature vibrant style. “If we could recommend just one supplier to other couples, it would be Tim Barnes the wedding celebrant! He absolutely made the ceremony! We couldn’t imagine our day without him.”

After the first kiss and “I do”s, the creatives from DUÜET whisked the Nikki and Andrew away for beautiful wedding portraiture and video footage. The imagery reflects a true celebration of romance and togetherness, showcasing the natural landscape, as well as Nikki and Andrew’s authentic love for one another. Kombi Love provided two baby-blue kombis for the occasion to add a fun retro element.

For their outdoor reception, the guests dined on fare by Burn City Smokers Food Truck and sipped cocktails from Pineapple Jam Hospitality. As the night grew dark, they danced to the tunes of WBC Entertainment on a timber dance floor, beautifully lit by festoon lighting. Nikki and Andrew wanted their wedding to be relaxed and enjoyable — and they succeeded with a little help from their friends, family… and the planning team from Easy Weddings.
