Kate describes now-husband Nick as the poster boy for love at first sight.
“That’s how he fell in love with me,” Kate, 27, explains.
“He knew it before we had even said ‘hi’, his family knew it before I had met them, and I think deep down I knew it before he told me. We moved in with each other after one month, and discussing our wedding plans after three months.”
Kate says their simple elegant wedding at Maleny, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, gave them the best of both worlds.
“We compromised on a small wedding of under 50 guests – as an only child I wanted to elope and Nick is Greek and so it’s pretty customary to invite EVERYONE,” she says.
Kate and Nick, also 27, wed on July 20, 2017 in front of 45 guests in the chapel at Weddings at Tiffany’s.
“As photographers ourselves, we knew the ins and outs of how a wedding day runs, but we made sure that it was still unique to us and it was important that we not let the little things stress us out, so we chose to forego a lot of extras and focus on the day and what it meant to be there,” Kate says.
The bride says there was many tears during the vows, before the good times flowed at the reception.
“We entered the reception with our wedding dance (we are also dancers) and cut the cake straight after,” Kate recalls.
“We had a donut wall and cupcakes that got eaten before the main meals and we played some fun wedding games to keep everyone entertained in between our musician’s sets.
“Our wedding was simple and no fuss, but it was also elegant and beautiful.”

Kate let romance take centrestage in her elegant lace wedding dress.
“The most important thing to us about our wedding day, was that we were getting married and that we were surrounded by the love of our closest family and friends,” Kate says.
As photographers themselves, Kate and Nick had a keen eye for helping make some memorable wedding photos.
Kate advises future brides to stress less. “Don’t stress about the little things, the day will be perfect as long as you have the important people there and that you get to become husband and wife!”
The newlyweds were lucky enough to have two honeymoon destinations – snowboarding in Queenstown and then Vietnam to defrost!
