Jessica and Bodan keep costs down with simple garden party wedding

After meeting in hometown Toowoomba, Bodan reached out to Jessica in the most romantic way he knew – over Facebook Messenger.

The pair soon became inseparable, with Bodan joining Jessica in Brisbane after only six months of dating.

Jessica and Bodan, aged 22 and 25, married on October 6, 2018. 45 guests joined the pair at the Mt Cotton private property to celebrate the simple garden party wedding complete with giant lawn games.

“We were fortunate enough to have family friend who lived on a huge property at Mt Cotton in Redland, Queensland, and have them offer to have our wedding there. Having a private property saved so much money,” Jessica explains.

The property transformed into the perfect venue with tables, chairs and a marquee hired from Complete Party & Marquee Hire. 

To keep costs down, Jessica and Bodan say it’s all about shopping around. “I found clothes, flowers and decorations less than half the price from just shopping around. Trust me, it is well worth the time and effort.

“Particularly as a young couple, we expected to wait years to celebrate our special day.

“We are testament to other couples – you can have a beautiful wedding that won’t break the bank.”

The Toowoomba pair exchanged rings purchased from Michael Hill Jeweller.

Jessica and Bodan had flower girls and seven page boys!

Bodan looked the part in his navy Ed Harry suit with matching bowtie.
