Emma and Cameron's tropical wedding at The Sugar Wharf

“We knew we wanted a destination wedding from the start… and we loved travelling to Port Douglas,” explain Emma and Cameron. Booking their wedding at Port Douglas’ stunning Sugar Wharf meant that the coastal town quickly became much more than just a holiday destination.

“We wanted a venue that was unique and suited our theme,” says Emma. The couple’s coastal-chic style was perfectly reflected in Sugar Wharf’s tropical aesthetic, captured by Peppermint Lane Photography & Film.

A romantic lock-down proposal on the anniversary of their workplace meet-cute lead to Emma and Cameron’s wedding on June 6th, 2023, at Sugar Wharf. The ceremony was held in Little Cove, which was the perfect space for the intimate guest list.

For the day, Cameron and his groomsmen wore grey suits, while Emma chose a flowing wedding gown with a low back — pearl embellished heels completed the look. The ceremony and reception venue were adorned with chic neutral florals by Floral Edge, with elegant, understated styling.

After the ceremony, Emma and Cameron were photographed by Peppermint Lane Photography & Film. Their guests waited patiently at Sugar Wharf, enjoying cocktails, canapes and good banter. Arriving to racheous welcome, Emma and Cameron laughed through speeches, relished Sugar Wharf’s culinary offering, and took to the dance floor for many a spin!

When asked what they would change about their wedding day, Emma answered, “I would not change a single thing. The day ran so well and we had the most incredible weather.”
