While 10–18 months is the sweet spot for planning a destination wedding on a Ha Long Bay cruise, it’s absolutely possible to pull things together sooner (especially with a great team on the ground). But if you’re planning on a typical timeline, here’s a general guide to help you stay on track:
10–18 months to go. Lock in your wedding package with your Easy Weddings specialist. This usually includes your cruise vessel, onboard accommodation, celebrant, photographer, and entertainment. It’s also a good time to start shopping for your wedding attire.
12 months to go. Send out your save-the-dates with travel and cruise details (a wedding website works well here). Finalise and order your bridal outfit, particularly if it’s made-to-order.
8–10 months to go. Book your flights to Hanoi and organise transfers to the cruise port. Confirm your florals, hair and makeup team, and any special styling details for the ship.
5–8 months to go. Check in with your Easy Weddings consultant to go over all the finer details. If you’re going custom with your décor, cake, or onboard styling, this is the time to lock it in. Finalise your wedding party outfits and any furniture or equipment hire.
2–3 months to go. Prepare guest welcome packs or favours with a tropical or nautical touch. Send out your formal wedding invitations with cruise timings and cabin information.
2–4 weeks to go. Your Easy Weddings run sheet will land in your inbox, complete with timings and supplier contacts. Schedule a final planning chat with your coordinator to go over all the day-of details, from ceremony flow to sunset photos.
