“Everything here, from the cottage to the shed itself, works beautifully. Of course, the shed can accommodate more people, but we find it’s the perfect space to have an intimate long-table dinner. You have enough space in there for dancing and whatever you’d like to do after dinner. It never feels crowded. It’s not so large that you feel lost in the space. It works really well as just a lovely place to bring people together for dinner.”

I think the pace of life at Dalmore is slow but busy, if that makes sense. So I think when people come down here, they realise that Dalmore is all about slowing down.”

Inside the 100-year-old shearing shed, where original timber floors, restored shearing pens, and preserved details sit alongside modern lounge spaces designed for intimate receptions.
Authentic character and historic charm
The heart of the reception space is the farm’s 100-year-old original shearing shed. Thoughtfully restored by Emilie and her husband to preserve its heritage, the building features original timber floors, reclaimed grating treated with almond and linseed oils, and original historic details like the old drench recipe still written above the door. Paired with elevated lounge areas and a charming rear courtyard, it brings raw, rustic elegance without feeling manufactured.
For the ceremony, couples can exchange vows beneath a 150-year-old cork oak tree or make the journey 700 metres up to the back paddock. Guests are transported to the top of the hill in a custom jarrah hay wagon pulled by a tractor, where sweeping district views welcome them to the altar.
Because Dalmore Farm remains a genuine working farm, the backdrop is inherently alive. Curious cows often amble up to the fence line during ceremonies, and the daily rhythm of farm life continues quietly in the background.
