“It is a pleasure to truly get to know a couple as they journey towards their big day, from the initial enquiry over email and calls, to the first meeting and all the small interactions leading up to the wedding,” shares Tehya Paoliello. Her commitment to understanding each couple’s vision is evident in the lasting relationships she forms with them. “I still regularly keep in contact with many of my couples, and they return time and again to Four Seasons Hotel Sydney because of that special connection we are able to forge.”

Further ensuring Four Seasons personalised service, the team employs a strict policy of one wedding per day in their Grand Ballroom – something not all venues can offer – which guarantees each couple is the number one priority for their dedicated Wedding Manager on the day.

The dedicated team, led by Weddings & Social Events Managers Tehya Paoliello and Nicholas Antoun, go above and beyond to understand their couples deeply, ensuring each wedding is a reflection of their unique journey.

Months of meticulous planning involve numerous face-to-face and virtual meetings, menu tastings, venue walk-throughs, and dry runs. This process is key in building a foundation of trust and rapport, which, according to the team, is an indispensable aspect of their service.

The reward for this extensive preparation is captured best in the moments when a couple first sees their venue on the wedding day. Nicholas Antoun reflects on this experience, “For me, it all comes together on the day of the wedding, when the couple have their first look at their venue. Nothing can replace the excitement when the doors first open, and the reward of a happy couple and a job well done.”

The (now legendary) all-hands-on-deck wedding rescue

Four Seasons Hotel Sydney experienced a moment that would soon become a legendary tale of teamwork and dedication. It was an all-hands-on-deck wedding rescue that showcased the spirit and commitment of the entire hotel staff in a way that had never been seen before. The team shared this with us:

“One memorable wedding had a slight mishap with the table settings. The night before, a delivery was received at the Hotel and the items set up in the Grand Ballroom, however come morning (the day of the wedding), it was discovered the items were in fact inappropriate for the space and requirements. With hours to spare, the Weddings & Events Managers roped in staff from all over the hotel (think housekeeping, front drive, sales, chefs, you name it) to help flip the ballroom already set for the 200 pax. wedding in record time and ready for the reception. 

It was a real team bonding moment, and lovely to see the support of so many departments in the Hotel make things happen! When the couple arrived, the room was exactly as they had envisioned, nothing amiss, and they were actually none the wiser. In the post-event wrap up, the couple were in disbelief that anything had gone outside of the plan, as the day went smoothly.”
