I am looking at spending $3500, is this a normal price for a skilled videographer for all day?

You'll get great results for that price. Remember, you do get what you pay for. So make sure you are happy with the quality of the companies examples and don't just settle for price!

Best of luck with your choice, if you have any more questions I'm here to help!

Yes, $3500 is a very normal figure for full day wedding videography in Victoria, and it sits right in the middle of the market. At that price you should expect proper all day coverage, often a two person team, and a finished film that is a genuine piece of storytelling rather than just a record of the day. The big variable is not so much the hours as what you actually receive at the end, so look closely at the edit length and style each studio shows you.

The thing I would weigh most carefully is who actually edits your film. A wedding video lives or dies in the edit, and there is a real difference between a studio that cuts everything itself and one that sends your footage offshore to be turned around quickly and cheaply. We edit every film in house ourselves, because the person who was in the room when your dad teared up during his speech is the one who knows which moments matter. Ask any company you talk to whether the editing stays with them, because two people might film an identical day and hand you completely different films.

A couple of practical things for a Victorian wedding. If you are marrying in the cooler months the light drops early, so a good videographer will plan your couple shoot around that and may shift things on the run sheet to chase the best light. And if your venue is out in country Vic or the Yarra Valley, check whether travel or an overnight stay is built into the quote, since that is often where a price quietly moves. I would enquire about what each studio includes first, then see how it lines up with your budget, rather than leading with the number.

?? In Victoria, the average for a full-day skilled videographer sits around $3,000–$5,000.

So yes—$3,500 is totally normal for someone who knows what they’re doing and delivers a polished, emotional final product.

Just double-check what’s included:
– Full-day coverage?
– Audio for vows/speeches?
– Highlight + full edits?
– Delivery method?

If it ticks the boxes and the style fits your vibe, you're onto a good thing.

$3500 can get you really far with vidoegrapher! Expect to get a lot of quotes from great videographers at that price.

However you can get cheaper. Shop around. There's a lot of talented videographers not asking that price.

$3,500 is a good ballpark figure and, for that money, you should expect a decent video and a decent service.  We'd also expect that you'd at least get a two person team for that money, but in saying that we don't think it's unreasonable for a one-person outfit to charge that much -- it all depends on what's being offered.  These services can range in price from a pittance at less than $1000 up to a huge premium at $10,000 or over.  We feel that you get what you pay for, especially in these industries where creative work is being sold.

Have a shop around. Have a look at the packages they can offer. Make sure you look at some of the work they have done before making an decision. for $3500 you should get the best kind of wedding video out there.

This maybe a little high for Videography.

We have set packages for what we offer.

The only reason we would go outside of these packages was if the wedding was in country Vic and we needed to stay the night.

Other than this, suppliers should stick to their packages as much as possible. Can I encourage you to be cautious about verbalising your budget. Your probably best to enquire on what the companies offer then see if it fits into your budget. If you are set on this compmay and you need to get more or less to sit fit in your budget your in a better position of getting what you want.

I hope this was helpful?

Enjoy the planning of your special day, it will fly past.

All best

Warm Regards

That is a reasonable price to have a team of two videographers on the day shooting continuously. This will allow for more coverage and more shoots in the final edit which will add a nice creative and professional look.

However there are many different package options depending on what you'd like to spend and what you want your video to look like.

Feel free to send me a message and I'd be happy to run it through with you :)

That is a normal average price for well developed Wedding Videography companies, but you can get it cheaper for at least $1000 off with other/new Wedding Videography companies that can produce better and more creative wedding films and have a better team.

Picking the right people to be in your wedding day is also a must to consider since you don't want to hire someone for an expensive price, but gives you a really hard time in your special day. I hope this helps.
