Turnaround really does vary from studio to studio, so the honest answer is to ask your videographer directly before you book and get it in writing. A range of four to twelve weeks is pretty normal across the industry, and the bigger factor is usually the time of year. We shoot the bulk of our weddings through the warmer SEQ months from spring into autumn, so a film from a March wedding can sit in a slightly longer queue than one shot in the quieter winter stretch.

For us, every wedding is edited in-house by our own team here in Queensland, never sent offshore or outsourced to a stranger. That matters because the person colour grading your film and choosing which moments to feature is someone who was either at your wedding or works alongside the people who were. It takes a little longer than a quick overnight dump, but a highlight film is a real edit: syncing speeches and vows, choosing music, matching the light from a Sandstone Point sunset to how it actually felt on the day.

A good question to ask beyond the headline number is what arrives and when. Some couples are anxious to relive the day quickly, so it's worth checking whether you get an early teaser within a week or two while the full highlight and any full-length ceremony and speeches edits follow a bit later. Set that expectation upfront and the wait feels a lot easier.

Hey there, turn around time will vary between each business based on the time of year and how busy that company is. My business delivers a short video within one week (what we call a teaser), and then we provide the Highlights & Full Length edits within 2-3months on average. Hope that helps. Cheers Stu (Stu Art Video Productions)

Hey there! It depends on who you go with, some providers are quick and others can take up to 6 months. With me you won't be waiting long at all. All my videos take between 1 to 4 weeks to return (ceremomy recording, speeches and the main highlight video). If it's important to you to have an overnight edit l can offer this for an addtional $1000. Cheers, Beau - BC Films.

Our usual turnaround is 8–12 weeks, but we always do our best to deliver sooner when we can. We put a lot of love and care into every film, so it becomes something you treasure for years. That's why we take the time needed to craft it well.

If anything shifts, you’ll be the first to know :)

It depends on the videographer. Typically I edit and return wedding videos within 2-3 weeks of the wedding, however other videographers can take longer. I've seen some as long as 3 months. It's a good idea to check with your videographer before you book them to ensure your expectations are set accordingly
