You do need to ask for it, but it is certainly not a problem. 

We serve loose leaf tea & filtered coffee at a station that guests can help themselves to.  

It's not usually set up until dessert canapés are served.

Coffee and tea are part of our drinks packages, although, we rarely end up serving any!
