Located in the multi award winning Coral Sea Marina/Resort and perched high on the point, Sorrento lovingly captures all the magnificence of the Coral Sea, enchanting Whitsunday Islands and tranquil ambience of the Marina, with it's unique 180 degree uninterupted water views.

Sorrento boasts the versatility of catering for a variety of different wedding or function options for your special day. Book the entire venue for large functions, celebrate intimate affairs on the upper Ocean Deck, or laid back gatherings with your favourite friends and family in the downstairs Casual Deck.

Sorrento's breathtaking upper Ocean Deck welcomely caters for up to 80 guests seated (60 with dance floor) or up to 120 guests cocktail style. Offering a bright coastal chic setting the Ocean Deck sets the scene for magical and memorable celebrations. Relax and enjoy your special day under the canopy of twinkling fairy lights whilst enjoying the breathtaking vista, sipping on cocktails and savouring the delicious delights from our highly regarded chefs.

Whatever your taste or budget, Sorrento’s experienced function co-ordinator is available to assist you with tailoring your event to create your perfect day. Sorrento is delighted to be able to offer a variety of dining options including fine cocktail canape menus, beautiful grazing stations, pizza, pasta and salad favourites, delicious desserts and 2 and 3 course drop menu indulgences.

With the seasonal changes produced in the tropics you can rest assured you have chosen the perfect location for all weather conditions.

Do you cater for smaller micro or intimate gatherings?

Absolutely! We warmly welcome all groups (small or large) at Sorrento Restaurant and Bar, we cater for micro to larger ceremony and receptions.

Do you offer support in coordination leading up to and on the wedding day?

Yes we can. Our wedding coordinator has extensive experience in wedding management and can deliver an exemplary level of service, organisation and attention to detail for your very special day.

This venue is the absolute perfect backdrop for any wedding. The location, views, staff & food are second to none. Sandra ensured our day went off without a hitch- she always ensured our drink glasses were full, she was attentive & efficiently responsive to all our guests, nothing was too hard from day one; the whole process from our first enquiry to execution was impeccable. There is nowhere else we would have wanted to spend our special day. Thank you to the whole Sorrento team for making our big day perfect. We would recommend this location anyone getting married.

Making playlists, straightening your train, timing your entrance, organising photos, decorating and organising tables, smiling, being polite and helping out grumpy relatives… Anyone would think I had an extra bridesmaid going above and beyond. Sandra had clearly done this a million times. She knew exactly what to do and when. She thought of all the little things and ensured everything went smoothly. I cannot thank Sandra enough for the amount of time and effort she put in to make our day perfect. The venue was perfect. We had 60 people and a magnificent day. Our wedding was in October. We thought it would be hot, but with the cool sea breeze it was beautiful. The food was absolutely incredible. The fish was fresh cooked to perfection and the eye fillet was juicy and full of flavour. Highly recommended!

I had my wedding at Sorrento in November 2023, and I can honestly say that everything exceeded our expectations. From the very beginning, Sandra was incredibly helpful, professional, and supportive. Planning a wedding can be stressful, especially when coordinating guests travelling from overseas, but Sandra made the entire process so much easier for us. Right up until the wedding day itself, she was there to ensure everything ran smoothly and that we felt supported every step of the way. Her attention to detail, kindness, and dedication truly made a difference. The rest of the staff were also wonderful, friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. Our family and friends travelled all the way from South Korea to celebrate with us, and they were absolutely amazed by the venue. Everyone commented on how beautiful the restaurant was, with its stunning ocean views, relaxed atmosphere, delicious food, and fantastic cocktails. The combination of the gorgeous blue ocean backdrop and the warm hospitality created such a memorable experience for all of our guests. Looking back, our wedding day was everything we had hoped for and more. We are so grateful to the entire team for helping create one of the most special and unforgettable days of our lives. The venue provided the perfect setting for our celebration, and we will always cherish the memories we made there. Having looked at a number of wedding venues in the area, I genuinely believe Sorrento is one of the best options for an intimate or small wedding. The setting is beautiful, the service is exceptional, and the pricing is very reasonable for the quality of experience provided. Our connection with Sorrento did not end after the wedding. We returned for dinner on our first wedding anniversary, and it was just as wonderful as we remembered. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and it brought back so many happy memories from our wedding day. Thank you to Sandra and the entire team for consistently providing such amazing service, wonderful food, and a beautiful atmosphere. We had a beautiful long-lunch reception for 60 people at Sorrento. Even weeks after the wedding, we still hear nothing but praise for the delicious food and wonderful service by the staff. A lot of our guests have since messaged us saying they craved the food they had at our wedding!! The whole process was so easy and communication by Sandra was prompt and always so respectful. We wouldn't change a thing about our reception, simply perfect.
