The signature Boardwalk Restaurant is located overlooking the marina and Nelly Bay featuring sensational views with a contemporary feel and large expanses of glass with disappearing walls, bringing the outdoors inside and leaving a feeling of open air dining. For a more intimate event, the Resort Pool with spectacular sunsets disappearing behind the mountains and marina. Thank you for your question! Most ceremonies on Magnetic Island take place around 3 – 4pm with the reception starting around 6.30pm. During the time between ceremony and reception, usually the couple will serve some Cocktail Snack Platters to keep their guests going. Then, once the bridal party enter the reception (usually about 15 minutes after the reception starts) additional food comes out such as canapés, snack platters, and a Fork & Walk Buffet with more substantial food around 7.30pm followed by speeches at 8.15pm. The dessert for cocktail style reception tends to be the wedding cake plated with berry compote and cream served around 9pm. And your 4 hour function would then wind up around 10.30pm.
