Located near Mansfield in Victoria’s High Country, Howqua Lodge is our home, and we’re proud to share it with couples looking for a relaxed, genuine wedding surrounded by family and friends.
Rather than squeezing in weddings every weekend, we only host a limited number each year. That means you’ll have exclusive use of the property, plenty of time to settle in, and no feeling of being rushed - the weekend is yours to enjoy.
One of the things couples love most is the flexibility. You’re free to choose your own caterers, drinks and styling, creating a wedding that reflects your personalities and your budget. From food trucks to cocktail-style celebrations, a sit-down dinner or a spit roast under the stars, the choice is completely yours.
We also believe in keeping things simple and transparent. Our wedding package includes many of the essentials that other venues charge extra for - such as furniture, market umbrellas, wine barrels, cool room and more - so when you compare everything that’s included, Howqua Lodge offers exceptional value without compromising on quality or experience.
With panoramic views across the Howqua Valley, plenty of space to celebrate, on-site accommodation, and beautiful locations for your ceremony and photos, everything is in one place so you can spend more time with the people who matter most.
We’re hands-on owners who genuinely enjoy helping our couples. We’ll answer your questions, share local recommendations, and quietly make sure everything runs smoothly on the day, while still giving you the freedom to celebrate your wedding your way.

FAQ
Bookings can be made for weddings in a few months or a couple of years! We recommend securing your dates as early as possible, especially if you’re aiming for a wedding during the popular Spring and Autumn seasons. We limit weddings each year to provide a relaxed, personalised experience.
Yes we can! You are welcome to use any suppliers you choose, but we encourage our couples to support local businesses and can supply a list of recommended suppliers from caterers to photographers, music, celebrants, bus transport etc.
Yes we do. We have beautiful timber trestle tables, cross-back chairs, stools, wine barrels, market umbrellas and bench seats for the ceremony. There is no need to hire furniture.
The Stables sleeps up to 18 guests in 4 bedrooms, in a combination of single bunks, single beds and double beds.
There is no camping at Howqua Lodge. There are many accommodation options in the local area for guests.
Buses are required to transport your guests (who are not staying in The Stables) from their accommodation in the local area to Howqua Lodge and back so they can have a great time and not worry about driving.
We have both outdoor and covered spaces for your ceremony and reception. We will work with you to make sure your day runs smoothly, rain or shine.
