OVERVIEW

Established in 1836, this heritage farm and homestead houses a stately Victorian Georgian manor and two cottages. For an unforgettable rural destination wedding experience, Buckland Estate offers accommodation options that are as comfortable as they are beautiful. In addition to the grand manor and cosy cottages, Buckland Estate offers glamping and camping options and ample parking space for all your guests.

With incredible photo opportunities at every turn, Buckland Estate offers your choice of ceremony and reception location. Why not wed beside the lakeside for a laid-back, natural sense of serenity. On the other hand, if old-world glamour is your style, the manor makes the perfect backdrop — why not opt for a horse and carriage entrance to complete the picture. Whichever your selection, you’ll be put at ease by the dedicated and professional team waiting to welcome your guests.

You and your partner can prepare for your celebration with your respective wedding parties in separate dressing rooms, perfect for “getting ready” photos you will cherish forever. Other thoughtful features include a private formal photography room and multiple furniture options available for your use. Buckland Estate offers a boutique, relaxed, and personalised offering, allowing you the freedom to plan your wedding the way you’ve envisioned.

“We attended a wedding at Buckland estate this weekend, and it was one of the best weddings we have ever been to! The venue is stunning, with beautiful scenery and rolling hills that seem to go on forever! From the moment we arrived, Russell and his team made us feel welcome and were so accommodating. The glamping tents were so cool and very comfortable. There were so many wonderful things that I’m not sure which was my favourite? From eating ice cream on the lush green lawns while the autumn sun hung low in the sky behind us or having dinner under the stars? It was all awesome, just a magical place to visit! We will definitely be back!” — Misty E.

“What a wedding venue! We had our wedding at Buckland Estate over the weekend and couldn’t have asked for a better venue. Buckland offers so much more than just the golden paddocks, beautiful homestead building and wedding barn (which give you the perfect backdrop for great photos). We had our guests stay over the weekend across the cottages, homestead, camping ground and glamping tents. The set-up Russell and his team have created allowed us to celebrate into the night and enjoy each other’s company the following day. Russell and Di were an absolute breeze to deal with, and we had such a stress-free lead-up to the wedding. On the weekend itself, nothing was too difficult for any of the awesome staff who accommodated every request (Russell even let us use his tractor for the ceremony!). We were able to have our dream wedding, and Buckland Estate was a huge part of that. I could not recommend this venue more.” — Andrew C.

We recently got married at Buckland Estate in April and i couldn't recommend this venue highly enough. It was the only venue we looked at and fell in love after Di showed us around. Di was amazing in the 18 months leading up to our big day, always on emails and prompt responses and we were able to go back out 2 or 3 times to walk around again to get the perfect idea that i wanted in my mind. We ended up booking the venue for 3 days and had a recovery party the next day and it was just perfect, especially as we had lots of guests travelling and was the perfect way to end the most amazing day. Everything ran smoothly, all the staff were amazing, the accommodation was perfect. I must add we had young kids and being able to put them to bed at the venue was ideal. I could go on about it for days. If you are looking for a rustic, country vibe, and a DIY wedding as its basically a blank canvas, then go see Buckland Estate you wont be disapointed. Thank you to Di and the team again for making it such a special few days, all our guests cant stop raving about how beautiful our wedding and the grounds were.

Buckland Estate wedding We just got married up at buckland estate and oh my god what an amazing venue!! The price would scare people off but so worth paying for!! First and foremost of all Di and Paul (manager and grounds keeper) went above and beyond for us making sure every little detail was perfect picking the phone up when we called (even for one silly question) and Paul made sure all the furniture was set up perfect and consulted us on everything he was doing. The grounds are so clean and the accommodation is absolutely pristine condition!

Di was just amazing from the get go. So informative and supportive to us in helping us get the best out of our day. We feel in love with Buckland straight away. She was always quick to reply with enquiries. She recommended vendors which was helpful to start to process and we picked our caterers from her list and they did not disappoint! All in all the experience was amazing

Absolutely stunning venue, very clean and comfortable (for those staying) with many unique photo opportunities. Dianne and the grounds staff were very quick and responsive to requests - even setting up our ceremony location very last minute (due the weather uncertainty). The onsite accomodation, cool room, bar and bar staff options are affordable and customisable according to your taste and budget. The selection of onsite furniture is great - covers most reception layouts.

Are there non-wedding "wedding" venues out there?

For the planners and couples who have pulled off a forest or camp-style wedding for 100 guests: what are the best alternative venue categories to search for? We want a relaxed, campfire-and-tents vibe without the restrictions of a traditional wedding venue. Are we better off looking at private property rentals, or are there specific types of public/council land that allow music, alcohol, and overnight camping?

Buckland Estate

Buckland Estate is the perfect venue for you as we provide glamping tents or space for your own tents/campers. We also have a large fire pit and we do not have the time restrictions of a conventional venue.

Should the bride stay there the night before?

Buckland Estate

Where possible we suggest that it is always a better option for the Bride and  bridesmaids (and possibly other family members) to stay the night before, especially if you need to travel a bit beforehand. This fitrst night allows every one to settle in and enjoy time togerher before the next busy day. Its also ideal if you intend to do hair and makeup on site as these often start around 7 am and this will make logistic and planning easier.

Eloping

Hi, we are looking to elope. Most packages we’ve seen for venues come with a celebrant and photographer. We’d like my partners brother to perform the ceremony but as he isn’t a registered celebrant we had looked at doing the legal bits during the week at the registry office. We also don’t require a photographer as we already have one from previous events we’d like to use again. Most elopement packages come with both of these things as a must have inclusion. Any suggestions??

Buckland Estate

Many venues may just rent you the space for a short time and you provde everthing. The issue it may be hard to find on a weekend when they are booked? The other option is to look at some local council parkland, river bank etc whch they rent for a nomnal fee. The issue is you wil need to provde chairs etc etc.
