Your wedding day can flow naturally from ceremony to reception at Josef Chromy Wines. The Lakeside Pavilion offers a scenic ceremony setting overlooking the estate, with up to 50 white folding chairs available and additional standing room for guests. After the ceremony, your guests can enjoy post-ceremony drinks and canapés before making their way through the gardens to the restaurant.
Inside the restaurant, floor-to-ceiling windows frame the vineyard and lake views while the team brings your reception to life with considered food, wine, and service. You can choose from menu styles including shared table feasts, alternate drop, à la carte, and premium degustation options, all shaped around seasonal, locally sourced ingredients. A dedicated Event Manager will also support you with menu selection, wine options, and your wedding timeline.

FAQ
Yes, menu tastings can be pre-arranged for alternate drop, a la carte and shared platters styles of catering, however we cannot accommodate Gourmet BBQ tastings. Entrée and main courses can be tasted, however we are unable to offer dessert tastings. Menu tastings comprise of three entrees and three mains from the function menu options and are $70 per person (minimum 2 people, maximum 6 people) and begin at 11:45am on available dates.
Ceremonies may begin from 3:30 and receptions may begin from 6pm. We recommend you consider how long you require for photos when deciding on a ceremony time.
The Lakeside Pavilion is the only area where ceremonies can be held, however you may choose how you would like the ceremony positioned. You can have the standard set-up framed by the pavilion or the ceremony can be situated off to the side with the vineyard as a backdrop. You are welcome to consider other positionings as long as the location is still at the Pavilion.
The front garden of the cellar door is not available as it is not a private space. The cellar door remains open until 5pm and guests are often on-site until 5:30pm. The vineyard is out-of-bounds as it is a working vineyard
Up to 60 standing guests can fit underneath the pavilion. One row of chairs can still be provided in the front. If you require any additional coverage we recommend you bring in a marquee to extend off the front end of the pavilion. This can be a professionally erected marquee or a simple market marquee from Bunnings. We would recommend a 6 x 3m.
Yes wedding rehearsals can be booked in depending on pavilion availability. We often have multiple weddings in a week so the day before your wedding may not be available. Rehearsals can only be booked six weeks in advance.
Your final confirmed numbers are due two weeks from the wedding date. It is at this point that your final payment is due. You cannot decrease numbers after this point.
Part of our service is standard decoration set-up and pack-down. Our team will take care of setting up all table decorations like centerpieces, menus, place cards, wedding favours, signs and easels and your gift table. We are unable to set-up anything more elaborate (such as fairy lights and large installations), this will require the services of a professional decorator.
All items must be delivered to the venue ready to go. We cannot assemble flower arrangements, or trim and assemble foliage garlands. If you are delivering foliage garlands please ensure that you have trimmed and measured each branch, and grouped the correct amount of branches together for each table.
Place cards need to be delivered sorted into a bag or box for each individual table.
Wrapping and stickers need to be taken off of all decorations, ready for the staff to put in place.
Please provide a photo or a drawing to demonstrate how you would like your decorations to be placed out.
The ceiling of the function space is a false ceiling and therefore unable to bear any weight. For this reason, we cannot allow most decorations to be suspended overhead. Fairy lights are an exception as they do not weigh much, but fairy lights can only be installed by a decorator approved by Josef Chromy Wines. Please contact your Events Manager to confirm decorator approval.
An independent decorator cannot make decisions on behalf of Josef Chromy Wines, regardless of whether they have done something similar on site in the past. If you want to discuss options for drapery, lighting or hanging items, please contact your Event Manager before making final decorating decisions.
Yes we do allow candles, however they must be entirely contained in a vessel that will capture any wax drippings. For this reason, candlesticks are not permitted, unless you have a wide dish under the base to collect melted wax.
Should any damage come to the table linens, tables or other property of Josef Chromy Wines due to candles, you will be liable for any expenses.
