Established in 1824 and still cared for by descendants of the Archer family, Brickendon has a history that is part of its appeal. Couples can gather loved ones among the gardens or celebrate against the backdrop of the historic Farm Village, with timber buildings and rural scenery offering beautiful settings for wedding photographs.
Whether the plans involve an intimate celebration or a wedding with up to 150 guests, the team provides personal assistance from the first ideas through to the day itself. A backup ceremony location is available for wet weather, while onsite accommodation gives travelling guests the option to stay overnight.

About
Brickendon is our much-loved family business, set on my partner Will’s family farm, where we’ve been farming for 202 years. Will’s parents began the tourism business, and today our family and team bring years of collective experience to every celebration. We love sharing our farm and feel truly privileged whenever a couple chooses to spend their wedding day with us. While we don’t offer coordination, we work closely with a few trusted favourites who know Brickendon beautifully.

Guest capacity depends on your chosen venue and the style of your celebration. The Sussex Barn can accommodate approximately 30–140 guests, The Archery can seat up to 60, and our historic Chapel seats 35 or accommodates around 50 with some standing. Outdoor cocktail-style celebrations offer much greater flexibility, with no set guest limit.
Ceremonies can be held in the Chapel, the gardens surrounding the Chapel, the Homestead gardens, The Archery or Archery Yard, The Hayshed, the Sussex Barn, or an outdoor location within the historic Farm Village.
We provide an undercover backup location in case of wet weather. One ceremony venue change on your wedding day due to weather is included in your venue hire.
Planning, styling and coordination are not included for small or large weddings. Couples are required to engage one of our recommended coordinators before their date can be confirmed. On-the-day coordination is included with our elopement and micro-wedding packages.
Yes. Brickendon is a BYO venue, offering plenty of flexibility with your beverage service. We recommend engaging one of the many excellent local vendors who can serve your own drinks or provide a complete bar service. You may also arrange to staff the bar yourself, provided the person serving alcohol holds a current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate. Glassware and an outdoor bar are available to hire if required.
Catering is booked separately. Heartlands @ Brickendon offers customisable menus featuring Brickendon beef & lamb, seasonal Tasmanian produce and elevated farmhouse-style dishes. Options include grazing tables, canapés, shared feasts, banquet tables, fire-cooked meals and recovery brunches.
Yes. Our charming self-contained cottages allow your closest family and friends to stay together on the estate, making the celebration feel like more than just one day. Across seven accommodation options, we have 17 bedrooms, 24 beds and space for up to 39 guests.
Depending on your wedding package, selected accommodation for your wedding night may be included. Additional cottages and extra nights can be booked, subject to availability, with multi-night discounts available for wedding bookings.
Venue hire includes a range of tables, outdoor chairs, bench seating, barrel bars, heaters, decorative items, an outdoor cool room, a commercial kitchen and selected lighting. Some items are venue-specific, and additional chairs, glassware, crockery, linen, heaters and a dance floor can be hired separately.
For small and large weddings, couples and their suppliers can access the Sussex Barn or The Archery from 11am to 6pm on the day before the wedding. Two planning visits for you or your coordinator are also included.
Yes! We understand that pets are part of the family and are welcome to be part of your celebration at Brickendon. You’ll also have the opportunity to capture some memorable wedding photos with our friendly farm animals, adding a little extra country charm to your day.
