Yes, and I can speak to this from my own wedding where we had 25 children guests.
We organised a children's space in a bell tent, a jumping castle, lawn games, colouring packs, craft setups, and nannies. Without question, the styled children's space delivered the best return on investment of everything we offered.
It was the space itself that allowed children and parents to settle. When kids have somewhere beautiful and considered to belong, the energy of the whole room shifts. Parents stop hovering and start celebrating.
That experience is exactly what led me to create Stone & Acre - styling children's spaces for weddings and events in the Canberra/Yass Valley region. A thoughtfully designed space changes the day for every family in the room.
It's absolutely a service this industry needs. ??
Absolutely. Hiring professional kids’ entertainment is a total game-changer for any wedding.
Every couple wants their guests to stay late, hit the dance floor, and truly enjoy the party. But for guests with children, it’s hard to relax when you’re constantly managing restless little ones. That’s where specialized entertainment makes all the difference.
Family friendly weddings are becoming more common, but they work best when there’s something intentionally planned for children rather than leaving it to chance.
Including interactive, age-appropriate entertainment helps keep children engaged throughout the event, whether that’s during the reception, speeches or quieter moments. This can be as simple as structured activities, games, or a dedicated kids area, or more flexible support where children are included within the flow of the celebration so they still feel part of the day.
The biggest benefit is the impact it has on the overall atmosphere. When children are settled and enjoying themselves, parents are able to relax, stay longer and be more present. It creates a smoother, more inclusive experience for everyone, without the day feeling disrupted or overly child focused.
Family entertainment doesn’t need to take away from the wedding. When done well, it complements it and helps ensure guests of all ages can enjoy the celebration.
