Hi Jessica,

Firstly congratulations on getting engaged!

Secondly, it is a definite yes that you can plan a wedding in 4 months. The most important thing is getting the venue secured and everything can easily be done with good organisation skills. Do let me know if you would need any assistance or advice :)

Warmest regards,

Sharon

Hi Jessica

You have a few responses already covering most aspects of organising a wedding in a few months so I won't repeat their comments. Basically it depends how organised you are or who you employ to help you.

The majority of our brides contact us around the 4 - 5 month mark prior to their wedding to organise their ceremony for them, we have organised a wedding with 6 weeks notice. If you employ a business similar to ours that arranges all the ceremony suppliers and items for you, then choose a venue that arranges the reception for you, that covers the bulk of the organising leaving little stress for you.

Please be aware that there is a requirement to have your paperwork signed with the Celebrant / Officiant at least one month prior to your wedding so booking a Celebrant should be a priority and they will take you through what is required and handle it for you.

I hope this helps, good luck with your planning.

Absolutely!

We plan weddings (for various reasons) with as little as 5 weeks. These weddings have 'all the bells & whistles' and you wouldn't tell the difference between these short lead weddings and a long-lead.

The considerations are;

1. You have a limited range of venues and suppliers available to chose from - especially if you are planning on marrying in a busy season

2. You need to be prepared to be very decisive

If my business is available, we'd be more than happy to plan your wedding xx

Hi Jessica,

Absolutely, you have the groom your half way there. I recently helped a couple organise their wedding in 4 months and what I found was, if you are not fussed or a little bit flexible with the dates that are available, then it gives you more options to book a venue and ceremony site, and once that is done all the rest will fall into place. Especially since we have an abundance of talented suppliers, who are always willing to help bring your dream wedding to life. Congratulations and I wish you all the best...Leisa x

Hello Jessica M,

Congratulations to you and your partner...this is an exciting time for you both, your families and friends.

The simple answer is yes it is possible however you will need to be aware that the size of your guest list and your budget will inform all the important steps in the immediate planning process. I note your wedding date is the 7/7/2018 which does provide for a longer lead in and preparation time however I assume you have other commitments that prevent you from commencing your planning process in 2017. This is not unusual at all as many couples have professional, academic, family and other life imperative commitments that impact on decision making and prep timelines.

Critical aspects to decide and lock in are the venues for the ceremony and reception, the bridal party and groomsmen as well as the engagement of your celebrant and or officiate and your marriage license. The suggested time frame provides for traditional invitations as long as this is a priority and is delivered within a three - month period before the wedding day. Consider a cocktail style reception and also a mid week date as this opens up leverage for choice across the wedding planning spectrum including venues, supplier and vendor availability.

Similarly you will need to consider your wedding attire and your bridal party attire too as a matter of urgency. You don't have time to order a gown from a bridal salon (it takes at least six months to order and receive a gown), but you can visit trunk shows, sample sales and formalwear stores – your wedding planner of choice should have contacts across this supplier stream and be able to coordinate convenient appointment times too.

Transport, photographers and videographers, blooms, entertainment and other elements for your big day are important logistics, which can be promptly organised if you have a wedding planner with excellent contacts.

When these critical components are identified the planning process swings into full throttle.

Partnering with a wedding planning and on the day coordination service will provide you with direct access to venues, vendors and suppliers saving your time in the traditional evaluation and cost analysis phases. Most wedding planners have extensive engagement and contact lists across highly reputable and sort after suppliers and will be able to guide you through the multiple aspects of the planning and delivery of your wedding within your preferred time frame.

Don't stress too much – it is achievable.

All the best to you and your partner and remember to have an unforgettable day – your way – its your day.

Kind Regards,

Kerrie

Hi Jessica,

Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Definitely can be done.

Most important details to lock in first is your venues for ceremony and reception and officiant, once you have those then the rest will fall into place.

Good luck with your planning! If you need any help or assistance please do let me know :

Hi Jessica,

Congratulations! Yes, it is still doable.

Here are some tips: make a list of your wedding plan (The list is very important, make some big categories and details can come later) , select two items matter most and book it first, such as certain venue or particular photographer, or live bands etc. Because you have such short period to plan your wedding, you might need to save your time and money on certain items. For example, you can send out the digital Save-The-Date instead of mailing hard copy to your guests, and skip the RSVP card, put digital RSVP info on your invitation, let your guests reply online instead of waiting for actual mail. Be realistic and enjoyable for the whole planning process and if tiny mistakes happen just keep moving. Finally you and your fiancé need to make decisions quick.

Hopefully, those little tips can help you out, good luck to your wedding planning and all the best. <3

Hi Jessica,

Congratulations on our engagement.

It is most definitely possible. I have done a number of weddings with only a couple of months notice, destination and local. Make sure all of the main things are secured as early as possible, venue, celebrant/church, dress, photographer. Then you just need to be very organised and proactive.

Do let me know if you need any tips, help or advice.

Thanks!

Hi Jessica,

It is absolutely possible to plan a wedding in that timeframe, depending on how much help you receive, your organisational skills and how much time you actually have available to you. My last bride had only 6 weeks from the day she called me to the wedding and all went off perfectly. I would suggest if you are doing it yourself as opposed to using a wedding planner that you get a bridal checklist off the net and work through it.Good luck for your big day.
