Well it seems like an obvious question to ask - but your venue is not there to pre-plan your wedding - they are there to run the event on the day at their venue. There are hundreds of steps that happen outside of the venue in the pre-planning, that your venue will have nothing to do with. Like - day, date and time. Or invitation style, or website, or speeches or styling. If you Wedding Co-orindator is up to it, what they can do is breif your venue and prior to your wedding supply really detailed information for them in the language they understand to go into their event order....that absolutely could save you money and stress on the day. If you would like more information, just give us a shout.

Venue Coordinator- They are responsible for everything that specifically deals with the venue. Tables, chairs, linens, food, etc. If the venue provides catering, their focus is to make sure that the kitchen and wait staff are scheduled according to their needs.

Wedding Planner- They are responsible for everything that comes with your venue AND making sure that your vendors know where and when they’re supposed to be. If the venue provides linens, it is the job of the wedding planner alongside the bride to be  to help  choose the color based on the design of the wedding and to keep the quantities correct.

Wedding Planners outside of venues will organise and look after everything for you.

They are great to have as most brides look back at their wedding day wishing they had someone to assist them with things outside of a venue.

The venue's in house wedding planner will look after everything at the venue however will supply you with details to do all the searching on your own.

If you can have a wedding planner on the day, they will make sure that everything is perfect.

Hi Gillian

A wedding coordinator will assist you usually in the venue and everything else to do with that venue and they usually give you their contacts so you do the rest. A wedding planner does all the hard work for you re researching all the other things you want so it all comes together for you for the final product.

When you look at how miuch time and potential stress you place on yourself, investing in a great wedding planner means the stress is taken away for you so you can actually enjoy what you want to enjoy, which is the wedding day.

Good luck and if you need any help please contact us.

Great question.

A venue coordinator will assist with everything from the start of your reception to the end. A planner will assist with obtaining suppliers quotes for you and will start their coordinating from the moment your day as a bride / groom begins. We will assist in ensuring all your suppliers are following the run sheet and bumping in at the times requested. A planner will be your legs on the day and ensure that everything runs smoothly from the second you awake for your big day. All of the behind the scenes setting up styling and co ordination is our job.  Good luck and I hope this helps answer your question.
