Do you just do hire and décor or florals as well?

We do it all! As well as wedding hire we are stylists so we can create the wedding of your dreams. We specialise in ceiling canopies, lighting, decorations, centrepieces and florals. We’re a one stop shop so contact us for pricing and details. Yes! We love to travel interstate to bring our clients dream wedding to life. We have a range of staff on our team and often travel to Southern Highlands, South Coast and regional NSW. We would not hesitate to recommend Carissa and her team to any and everyone, from styling, florals to coordination on the day! Carissa, from Canberra Event Management was on point at all times, within 24 hours they had assessed our needs and issued an invoice for us to review. No request was too big or too small and we were always treated with amazing attitude and attention to detail. I cannot recommend Carissa and the team enough if you’re looking to host an event. Carissa was our incredible one-stop shop for almost everything related to our wedding – from ceremony and reception styling, florals, set-up, event progression, organization and contingencies. She is flexible, quick, understanding and dealt with changes and updates with grace and professionalism. No request or idea was too big or silly to ask. Planning a wedding generally comes with stress, planning a wedding during a pandemic with guests from almost all states was a huge challenge. Carissa made the whole experience so much calmer and we will never forget the support, care and work she put into our very long wedding day. It'll be a memory we hold dear for the rest of our lives and she made it happen.

My husband and i got married in February 2021. We booked an all inclusive ceremony package with Carissa and her team. We could not recommend them highly enough. Carissa, Pat and Michael were very professional and friendly. Helping guide us to our special day. Everything was taken care of from decorations, flowers, photography, celebrant, music and more. It made our wedding stress free and enjoyable not having to organise everything. Even when we had to change venues due to bad weather. Carissa had it all organised so we could notify our guest just days before our wedding. Together Carissa, Pat and Michael ensured everything was running like a dream. They went above and beyond to make sure our day was the best also involving our children in every aspect. We tip our hat to these beautiful people that helped us through a life changing event. Do wedding planners do styling as well or is that separate?

Does a wedding planner do styling (like create my ceremony arch) or do I need a separate wedding stylist for that? Thanks.

Some wedding planning companies also offer styling. It really depends on the provider and what they can accommodate. If you can find a company that does both, it’s ideal as nothing gets lost in translation and the less vendors there are to manage the better/smoother things run. At Canberra Event Management and Styling we offer Planning, Stying, hire and Florals so we’re a bit of a one stop shop and our clients love that they don’t have to provide the brief to many and can just be dealing with the one supplier for many aspects of their wedding.

How do I determine what friends to invite and leave off the guest list during covid?

I have had chronic health issues since 2013, after being diagnosed with breast cancer. I had to have implants after mastectomy and have had health issues ever since. I mostly stay in contact with my friends on social media but don't hang out with most of them in person, especially since covid. I have a long time friend that used to invite us to her events but stopped a few years ago. We still run into each other and she has asked when my wedding is and she knows my fiance, as they used to work together as managers for a retail pharmacy. Her kids and my son grew up around each other but I'm not sure if they should be on the guest list or not? She always says she misses us and we need to hang out but it never happens. I'm just not sure how to decide who we should include or not include and we are trying to stay within our budget AND keep up with social distancing during this pandemic.

Congratulations on your wedding! It’s so tough when you have to revisit your guest list and cull due to circumstances out of our control. It’s also tricky when family have suggestions and preferences to keep everyone happy.

Our advice would be to ask yourselves who will be supporting you through your marriage? Who will be the friends and family you’ll “do life with”? Those ones will be the special people you’ll want to start your exciting marriage journey with, the people who will love and support both of you, your relationship and family throughout the years.
