OVERVIEW

Wild hair, bare face, kicking off the shoes and approaching with a big ol' smile and a bear hug (or a proper country handshake if you are that way inclined!!). You found me!

I have been photographing weddings and documenting love for over 13 years.

By now, I would say it very much a part of who I am.

Weddings are my happy place because there is an abundance of connections and love in every direction that you turn your head. I feel that if I can capture the authenticity of the moment, I am doing important work. When looking through a gallery of my images I aim to document the technically correct 'must-have' shots alongside the artistic motion blur and warm fuzzy vibes of the day. A collection that you can feel.

On wedding day I work like a noisy fly on the wall; at times, I am quietly in the background and efficiently capturing all those moments that make up your special day. Other times (like during bridal portraits) this noisy fly is up close and personal with you, like that lovable third wheel.

I aim to make you feel at ease, get the belly laughs flowing, and I LOVE to watch the positivity radiate from you as you enjoy your wedding. Those candid moments when I tell you to "relax for a sec because I am just testing the light"...? Yep, you betcha I am still clicking away and yep, you bet they end up being your favourite images!

From May through August each year we aim to head off in the caravan outside of South Aus, check my website for where 2024 and 2025 are taking us if you are planning an outback or regional wedding in WA or QLD!

My family and I love getting away in our caravan to chase the warmer weather, so this provides me with the wonderful opportunity to work and shoot in different parts of Australia. Ocean or outback, I haven't decided which tops the list yet!

What kind of photos would we need to be considered for a wedding blog or magazine?

I think it would be so amazing to get featured in a real wedding blog or magazine. Is there a list or style of photos I'd need to help us be in with a chance?

Your magazine or blog of choice likely has a submissions requirements page, and on that page they give a fairly good overview of the style and type of content they are after. It would be worth mentioning this to your photographer ahead of time so that on the day they can shoot consciously in favour of the style of shots that your mag/blog prefer.

Generally coverage from across the day is favored, so if you have your photographer for 7+ hours you would likely have the range covered. Getting ready shots through to reception dance floor shots give a great overview of the style and vibe of the day.

As I am sure you know, particularly with magazine submissions, these things are never guaranteed even if you tick all the boxes, it's up to the discretion of the content selector. I actually picked my photographer from the magazine I was hoping to get in to and was lucky enough that that may also have helped as the mag team were used to submissions from them. We were published in HM in 2017. Goodluck!
