OVERVIEW

Wedding photography and highlight films across South East Queensland — the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, the Gold Coast and the hinterland.

I’m Grace, based in Brisbane and shooting right across the region. My work is bright and true to life: real colour, real moments, calm direction, and no standing around waiting for a photographer to arrange you.

Most couples book the signature package: one photographer capturing both the photographs and the film, from $3,800. Your full day photographed, plus a 2–3 minute cinematic highlight film — the stills for the wall, and the film that gives you back the sound of the day.

Photography on its own starts at $2,800.

Wedding content coverage is $1,200 and is booked on its own — vertical, social-first footage turned around within a few days. It’s a different job on the day, so I take either content coverage or photography for a wedding, not both.

About

Hi, I’m Grace, owner and lead photographer of Grace Henley Weddings. I’ve been photographing weddings and people for over a decade and specialise in natural, documentary-style wedding photography. My approach is calm, organised and unobtrusive, focusing on real moments and genuine connection rather than stiff posing. I also offer short cinematic highlight films and behind-the-scenes content for couples who want a modern way to relive their day.

FAQ

A: Yes! It’s all me, I won’t send anyone in my place unless its an emergency- rest assure, rain, hail or shine I’ll be there!

A: The packages on my website cover what most couples need, and they give you a fair idea of my price range and what is included. I can adjust the hours and add extras like albums and prints around them, so tell me what your day looks like. The one thing I can’t do is combine wedding content coverage with photography — content coverage is a different job on the day, so I take either content coverage or photography for a wedding, not both.

A: Absolutely but you will be paying a slightly higher fee. If you purchase the extra items as part of a package at the time of booking you will be getting the items at a reduced price.

A: Just myself. For bigger weddings I may have an assistant but their job is not to photograph but to assist me in looking after my gear and helping set up shots, holding lights etc. and really just to be a second pair of hands. If you have booked the signature package, I capture the highlight film as well as the photographs, so it is still just me on the day — photography always comes first and the film is captured around it.

A: All photos are individually hand edited and colour corrected in Lightroom. All photos are edited in my signature style that is full of colour and is timeless. I also select a number of images to be black and white when I think it will suit it. I will generally only spend time retouching photos (removing blemishes etc.) on photos which will be printed. All photos selected for the album will make it’s way into Photoshop to be retouched. At the time of our pre-wedding consultation we can discuss how much or little retouching you would like.

A: I spend a great deal of time going through the photos and removing any badly timed photos ie. Blinking, funny faces, food in mouth or photos which I took which didn’t quite come out right ie. Test shots, blurry photos. I will deliver you the rest. I normally will keep a not so technically perfect shot if the expression and emotion is engaging or just funny.

A: This is really hard to answer because it really depends on a number of factors- how many people do you have at your wedding? How long am I shooting for? How much action is going on? I won’t be able to tell you a hard number as it’s so varied. I do shoot a lot and my galleries have been anywhere from 300 (for elopements) to over a thousand!

A: It depends on the package that you choose. But my current base wedding photography package includes the high-resolution files & personal printing rights.

A: Copyright remains with Grace Henley Weddings. You receive the full-resolution files with personal printing rights, so you can print and share your photos as much as you like. Please forward any requests from blogs, vendors or advertising agencies to me so I can let them know the correct usage and attribution.

A: Unfortunately as my booking dates are limited I am unable to hold a date without a retainer. My non-refundable retainer is 50% of the package which is subtracted from the total. The remainder must be paid at least 30 days prior to your wedding day.

A: The retainer is so I keep the date exclusively for your chosen date. As a small business owner the upfront fee serves as a bit of an insurance for me. Although I doubt this would happen- imagine if a client decided after the wedding that they didn’t want to pay me- even after all that time and effort I put into before and during the wedding! I also have work to do in planning, organising insurance, location scouting etc. Before the wedding day. It is also a lost opportunity if I hold a date for you then another customer wants to book the same date then you end up pulling out.

A: Yes please! It’ll help us both in the long run that we have deliverables in writing.

A: Yes! I have three professional camera’s and all have dual memory cards so each and every photo I take is instantly backed up. I also have a variety of lenses should one fail.

A: Yes. If you book the signature package I capture both — the photographs and a 2–3 minute cinematic highlight film — on the same day, working alone. Photography always comes first and the film is captured around it, so there is no second crew at your ceremony to work around. The film takes longer to finish than the photos, so it sits at the longer end and follows your gallery. All my gear is professional quality, with three cameras and dual memory cards, and I am a Nikon shooter.

A: Absolutely! Its great that you’re thinking about it. I also highly encourage that you give the job of people wrangler to a couple of your friends/ family who know each of the people. We will discuss in detail the timeline and shooting time at our pre-wedding consultation.

A: I don’t discount. The packages are priced at what the work is actually worth, and it wouldn’t be fair to the couples who have paid full price. There are three to choose from and they start at $1,200 for content coverage and $2,800 for full-day photography, so there is a way in at a few different levels. If your day is shorter or simpler than most, tell me what you are planning and I will be honest with you about which package genuinely fits.

A: Photography starts at $2,800 for full-day coverage. The signature package — photography plus a 2–3 minute cinematic highlight film, both captured by me on the day — starts at $3,800. Wedding content coverage is $1,200 and is booked on its own. Full details are on the Packages page at gracehenleyweddings.com/packages.

A: How long do you want me to stay and how long have you booked me for? I’m happy to be there from sunrise to the next day’s sunrise:) If you realise on the day that you need me to stay longer, I’m more than happy to do so at my overtime rate. If you want a better deal please add it to your package.

A: Not at the moment. Photography, highlight films and content coverage are what I do, and I’d rather do those three properly than add extras I can’t stand behind.

A: You receive full-resolution files with printing rights, so you can print anywhere you like. If you’d rather not do it yourself, I can arrange albums and fine-art prints — send me an enquiry and I’ll put options together for your budget and the number of images you want included.

A: Depending on the season and how many weddings I have it can take 6- 8 weeks for me to deliver the proofs.

A: I will first do a happy dance then send you an email with information and questionnaires. We will then book in a pre-wedding consultation to nut out the details and create a timeline.

Photography always comes first and the film is captured around it, so there is no second crew at your ceremony to work around. A: Under 5 hours no meals are required but anything over would be nice. I generally carry snacks with me to keep me powered up to shoot throughout the day.

A: Absolutely as long as they don’t stand in front of me (I’m real short). But to be honest do you want people holding up phones and camera’s in all your photos? The only issue I have is when all your guests want to get photos but end up standing in my way. I do the best I can but having an unplugged wedding allows your guests to relax and to just enjoy the moment. It also helps not having too many cameras so the bridal party doesn’t get confused on who to look at.

A: During the pre-wedding consultation we can discuss your wet weather plan. Rain photos are always so dreamy:-)
