Hi,

You can always ask where they are playing live and go and see their performance and style? It could be a good place to start.

Kind regards,

see how long they have done weddings for, call them and talk to them as their voice can tell you how good they are, ask them lots of questions

I always advise my clients - go to both website and or agency that they are booked with, and see if they have any upcoming 'live performances' coming up that you can go and see for yourself.

Having the right fit for both yourself and your loved ones is vital, as music is one of the most important aspects of the day/night.

For further Master of Ceremonies information, or to help map out this important part of the day - the formalities - please do not hesitate to contact me.

Talk to the person they are recommending for you, go over song lists and equipment, ask  them questions and let them ask questions of you, the more they know about you the better they will be able to give you what you want musically.

When you book Simple City Music to cater the entertainment for your special day I am the dj that will be turning up, we are not a company with a bunch of Dj's sent out for jobs to do.

Once you have confirmed and made a deposit we begin working on your chosen songs and playlist for the evening ensuring that the ssongs you want to hear will be ready to go.

As for experience I have been a Dj internationally in New Zealand and Canada at different bars focused around top 40 and pop music and also play at local venues when im not booked for weddings.

Check out the Dj first.  There is a vast difference from one Dj to another.  A Dj from a company may not have the invested responsibiltiy of creating a great night.  Hiring a private Dj,  I believe will be more commintted to the job as he/she knows that they are going to be recommended personally or may not.  I would always check first.   I know some one I highly recommend as he was currently at a personal birthday I organised.  He was fantastic.

I don't know if you can guarantee that. Unless you know exactly who you are going to get you can't know. But if the company has a good reputation and testimonials, then you would be fairly safe.

Hi

To ensure you get a good DJ I believe it's best to interview the individual person prior to making a decision what you should be looking for is someone with the following attributes

Helpful

a lot of experience and a good knowledge of music suitable to your taste

good work ethic (arrives before guests and sets up prior to their arrival)

Dresses Appropriatly

Well manered

good personality

plays music at the level you want

For dancing has the ability to read the dance floor to keep the momentum going

has quality tidy equipment

In my view smaller companies are the way to go as you will find it's their passion to provide a quality service

I would suggest that you either ask the company to put you in direct contact with the DJ so you can chat to them personally or perhaps go with an individual person rather than a bigger booking company.

Everyone has different musical tastes. If you can speak directly with the DJ you can ask for suggestions and tell him/her what you like and work together the build the most ideal playlist for your wedding :)

Hope this helps!
