What is the average cost of wedding music in Syd? I know it's a big night and a lot of effort but is this a normal price?

Hi Macca,
I personally am not based in Sydney but I do understand the wedding market as most areas have a price range when it comes to wedding entertainment. For instance in Nth NSW I have competitors that charge from $650 to Dj a wedding but unfortunately this is one of those areas where you get what you pay for! That's not to say that paying $4000 assures you have made the right choice. It's important to understand what you are looking for an assuring you are comfortable that your chosen Dj / band can deliver this. If your concerned or unsure you can always get multiple offers but your main focus should always be on their experience and total offer not just price. As you said it's a big day and having the right entertainment is crucial to the success of your day/night and will be something your guests will remember for a lifetime. Hope you have a fantastic day.
All the best

Hi Macca,
I hope this message finds you well.
Mate, it depends on what you are seeking as far as entertainment. If you are hiring a band and live music, then this would be about right depending on how many band members there are...! The more, the more money they will charge as they need to pay each artist.
I am an DJ / MC (Based in Sydney) if you decide to NOT go down the whole live band thing.
Wish you all the best with the planning.
Cheers,
Russell Sykes

Hi Macca,
It really depends on what you were looking for!
If they are performing your whole day and supplying gear, then definitely!
We charge anywhere from $3000- $5500 but we provide DJ, Duet, MC and Coordinator services.
I know a few 5 piece bands regulalry charge around $6000-$7000. If the quality of the repetoire is great, they have decent reviews and you like their music, then booking them would be a great idea. You can get music for less, but you might be looking at a soloist and a dj.
Best of luck!
