Why do I do weddings? Yes, they are more work and more stress for a DJ. However, I am also witnessing to some of the most beautiful and special days of life. I am a romantic at heart so it is a privilege to be at your day. I believe the team you assemble for your day should work together so it can be the best it could be. Eg On different occasions, I have gaff taped a Videographer's and a Groom's shoe moments before the Bride walks down the aisle. Why? To get the job done & prevent embarrassment

I will ask if there are any songs on the DO NOT play list.
If it is on the DO NOT play list then it doesn't get played.
I sort music to be played at the appropriate time.
I don't play a song immediately because a guest just asked for it.
Certain songs should be played after the older generation has left.
Some songs require checking if they are appropriate at all.
I don't skip a song just because one guest thinks another song is better (unless it is the bride or groom).
I have seen 6 songs started on a junk box in 10 minutes after I finished at 1 am. The guests were having a song control war

Yes. I loved doing them. Just pick the parts of your songs. The first four hours of editing are free if I am doing your wedding. Further editing is $40 per hour.

I must say your Dad's birthday cake was a brilliant surprise for everyone. The cattle breeds instead of table numbers was a very cool idea. Everyone loved them. Make sure you look at their reputation and reliability. The wedding industry has a high turnover of vendors. Trust the ones who have a solid performance history. You don't need extra stress from an unreliable vendor.

Is it OK to have a do-not-play list at our wedding?
Hi there. There are some songs I really don't want played at our wedding but I know some of my family will request it. Can I give our DJ a list of these songs - but how do they handle it with the guests? I don't want to offend anyone.

It is definitely ok to have a DO NOT play song list for your DJ. You can also specify that a song must be played before your arrival. I receive a large quantity of song requests over an evening and unfortunately I run out of time to play them all. Most guests are happy to know that their request has been made and noted. If they become aggressive, I explain that I am unable to play that song at the moment. Regardless of requests, it is your day and should be done your way.
