I will work in with you and can MC if required and mix in your favourite Ipod songs.. I look forward to working with you :)

We chose Paul Vercoe to be our wedding musician as we think he is a very talented singer. When we went through his website the services offered of being a MC, coordinating and being a DJ as a full service for the day sounds amazing. After a 5 minute Facetime call we booked him in and looked forward to him singing and MC’ing at our wedding. A couple of days before the wedding we had a coffee with Paul to discuss the events of the day, afterwards we emailed him through the run sheet, song lists and went through all details that are required. We even booked and paid for his parking and sent through parking information for him as its in Brisbane city. Paul assured us its all ok he did this many times over the years and he knows what to do and we were in good hands. On the day of the wedding, Paul arrived at the venue with very little time to spare before the ceremony started. He was apologetic but it didn’t seem to be the polished Paul we had met earlier in the week. He sang the songs required for the wedding ceremony and did a pretty good job. But once the formality of the ceremony was over, he stopped singing when we are mingling with guests and taking photos. Paul was nowhere to be found and failed to make essential announcements that as an experienced MC he should have down pat. I had to find someone to look for my MC to make the announcements. There was about an hour break before pre-dinner canapes start so we clear the venue, and guests return to the venue at 5 pm for pre-dinner drinks and canapes before being seated by 6 pm for the reception to start. Again, he was nowhere to be seen at 5 pm during the pre-dinner canapes, no singing acoustically as he is supposed to, as arranged. Finally, my venue coordinator found him before guests are to be seated for the reception as again as the MC he needed to make our entrance announcement. He did that ok and started singing during the reception. He was meant to know when he needed to start speeches etc but again nothing and I have to get someone to cue him to start announcing for the speeches to start. There was several more discrepancies will the DJ set but I will not go on anymore, Paul has got a good voice, and we enjoyed his singing when he did for the short period of time, but he is not an experienced MC nor will he despite his assurances help you coordinate the events of the night or keeping the event of the night flowing smoothly without being cued. I say we got 60% of what was promised from his THE ‘START TO FINISH’ ALL INCLUSIVE WEDDING PACKAGE All Day All Night - Peace of Mind Package

The band was amazing! They made our wedding night! They were friendly, played great music and read the crowd well. We had a lot of children there who all got up and danced and the band included them in the night which made all of our nights! Great music, great atmosphere and very helpful.

What are popular wedding entrance songs for the bride/groom?

Paul Vercoe Music

For Ceremony... something sentimental and has meaning for the couple... beautiful words...normally acoustic in nature..but it really depends on the couple and their personalities. The classics are From This Moment - Shania Twain...Thinking Out Loud, Kiss Me or Perfect by Ed Sheeran...All of Me by John Legend etc etc.

For reception? Anything uptempo and that lifts the crowd.... I often ask the bridal couple many weeks before the big day what songs would match the bridesmaids/grooms as they walk in ...and have someone introduce them and then crank the matching song.

The song that the bridal couple should encourage everyone to get out of their chairs and start dancing. It's a great way to set the tone for the entire wedding :)

Do I need an MC?

Paul Vercoe Music

I definitely recommend having an MC....doesn't even need to be funny or entertaining (but always a bonus) ...but just someone to direct traffic from the end of the ceremony and all the way until last drinks/last dance etc. All the best :) Paul Vercoe
